What is the style of the album, any ideas?  What was we are rock-men 1? Just curious if this may be more instrumental rock type arrangements

Wily Stage 2 in Rockman 3 made the cut? Wow. Well deserved, as it's a very underestimated track in the Mega/Rockman series. Sounds very emotional and dark...almost as if the end is truly near with no return...

On the flip side, I'm very disappointed that once again, Rockman 2 Wily Stage 1 is in the track list when then there's other songs (which didn't make it) that can make equal substance and representation instead of a remix we've heard a billion times. The song is good, but it ain't THAT good.

Initial listen: it's a continuance of ROCK-MEN 1 with a slight of surprise -- no goofy (but admittedly fun and missed) rap vocals and more straight rock and ho-hum techno with little crossover of genres marking at around 3 1/2-4 minutes though a handful don't even cut the 2 1/2 mark. Questionable selection of arrangements here with plenty of love for 3, some good battle tunes in there and even some "new" material I didn't think the ROCK-MEN were going to explore like EXE and the mobile Xover.

Biggest WTFs: Flutter Vs Gazel Shaft again? Also, the inexplicable guest appearance by DIMENSION for some original material (oh, hey saxophones?!) -- I guess the ROCK MEN are fans of Dimension -- would have preferred some of their instrumentals on the arranges though...

Look out for: Doppler Stage 1 (X3), Napalm Man Stage (R5) and Wily Stage 2 (R3) ...so glad that one made it!

Oh and shame on e-Capcom and CapStone for poorly promoting this one...

Oh man, Wily Stage 2 from MM3!?

That alone makes this entire CD worth owning.

This album is awesome...really feels like a treat lately with recent releases - Ys Foliage, and Rockman EXE transmission...Diggin' it.  And holy crap..my favorite Japanese fusion bands is on it too (Dimensions)

Flipped through a couple Youtube samples and came away less than impressed. The production feels like it's improved a bit from the first album, but the arrangements are just...boring. Pretty much straight covers with bleh rock instrumentation (something about that lead guitar tone is just really unappealing to me) or bleh techno backdrops. So it just improves from sounding like a cheaply made doujin to a rather average one.

The only tracks I'm compelled to re-listen to are X vs Zero and the one Theme of Rockman Xover track. These actually feel pretty inspired. But it's hard to recommend yet another Megaman rock album that only makes me want to pull out the originals again.

As these are a compilation of artists, there's definitely some inconsistency, but that said, I thought between the two albums there's a nice collection of tracks.  I honestly couldn't listen to the album from start to finish without skipping a few.

GoldfishX...what are some of your favorite Mega Man arrangements?  Sample / you tubes if you can find (or I can look up, no prob)

Uh...there really aren't many. I feel like all 7 of the main ones (Rockman X, the 4 Anniversary albums and both Rock-Men's) have their ups and downs, with nothing really cracking their way into "must-listen" territory. The two techno albums are disposable to me, but each of the remaining albums have like 2-3 tracks I enjoy, so I'd probably end up with a CD's worth of Rockman music by making a custom, heh. Actually, in fairness, the 25th Anniversary rock album was slightly better than I was expecting...I posted my track-by-track impressions of that one. Out of all these, Tomahawkman's Theme and the Title Medley from the 20th Anniversary rock album are probably my favorite.

This one's the champion though...I feel like it really captures the feel of classic Rockman music and Skullman's theme, inparticular.  The two mini-CD's were generally pretty good, as are the two arranges on the Capcom GSM albums (although I REALLY wish they had picked another Megaman 2 track instead of the ending theme).

Also, Rockman 10 Image album was generally palatable. Nothing overly special, but I liked the old school vibe of it. The synth rock style is much more fitting for classic Megaman. I'm also a fan of the "arrangements" for the two Rockman arcade games (Power Battle/Power Fighters). While generally just upgrades, they make a solid alternative to the originals.

My own ideal Rockman albums would sound like the Ys IV Perfect Collections or Double Dragon II Arrange, except using Rockman music instead of Ys IV or DD2 music. That style is perfect for classic Rockman. The X series deserves the Konami Battle treatment, which all of the rock material released falls way short of.

WHY there isn't more tracks like Dr. Wily Stage 2, soo damn good.

Haha, my mind is blown starting from Dr. Wily Stage 2 to at least X vs Zero. This is how you bloody do a Rockman arrange album.

My hatred of downtuned, alternative rock kicked in on this one. Sounded like they took Rockman of the 80's and stuck it in the 90's, lol.

i haven't heard -skullman stage- in decades, but this rendition gave me goosebumps on first listen. slick.
