For the people who don't know what Gaia Online is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_Online. For those that do, join me in a communal "wait what":

“Battle” takes the full-fledged, millions-strong community of Gaia Online and brings their fictional home to life in the form of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).

But the world is not composed of only combat-oriented challenges. There are many ways to play in this world, whether doing favors for characters in the world, playing games, meeting at dance halls or in towns, or just simply exploring the landscape. “Battle” is a broad, new game in a widely-varying world that is FREE to play with NO DOWNLOAD required. Come try it yourself. You just might find yourself with a new home.

We are privileged to have contracted music from a well-known and extremely talented game music composer, Yasunori Mitsuda-san. (Mr. Mitsuda's wikipedia entry is quite impressive :

We are also very close to contracting with another brilliant composer with some incredible new ideas for music within an MMO. Details on that are forthcoming, but stay tuned!

If there was any doubt that GO makes money hand over fist, then here's the conclusive evidence. That second page actually has a music sample from Mitsuda. If you don't feel like sullying your browser by actually visiting the site, I grabbed it and uploaded it to my webspace: http://www.quiteajolt.com/gff/gaiahome.mp3.

So, discuss, umm... the end of the world as we know it.
