I was at my local bookstore and was surprised to find over half the manga on the shelves was from Tokyopop... I had no idea they where into bringing that stuff over.

I gather you're not very much into manga? Tpop was bringing out manga quite some time before they went into the domestic CD market. Then they finally ditched the CD operation and dedicated themselves to manga and (sometimes) anime.

Surprised no one has responded to josh connor's post. While it is awful that the guy is breaking copyright infringement, scamming a dude out of $2k in a laptop heist is even worse.

We gotta bring this asshole down, once and for all.

Isn't that considered fraudulent practice? Can't someone get charged for fraud in this case? To whom does one send a message to or call in these cases, like Josh Connor, for example?

Someone could and someone should.

And aside from pressing charges, for that amount of money, I'd sue. I can't imagine it would be terribly difficult to "win" either.

LOL!

That was absolutely awesome. I love that Judge Judy awarded $5000 to the plaintiff, meaning that the defendant wouldn't get any money for her appearance (which is probably the primary reason she agreed to go on the show in the first place).

The CD-Rs are currently no longer listed in his eBay listings.

He still seems to be scamming people on laptops.

I never heard back from the FBI.

I'm sure he'll try another username.  Ebay better get their ass in gear to stop all the fraud, or else they'll lose revenue to the point of extinction.

Riiiight. I'm sure eBay is shaking.

Ebay's auction service isn't growing as rapidly as it used to, they're starting to lose out to better online purchase systems.

Got some numbers to back that up, or are you just making things up?

I didn't create that conclusion, it was read in an article.  You can believe what you will, but it's what ebay deserves for itself and its self serving business ethic.

Oh man, I'm glad you guys got those bootleg CD sellers off of ebay. Great job! smile

I don't know man, still way to many people on there selling crap; I'd personally like to see AnimeCast go down in flames.

This may help anyone who wants to press charges or report him or whatever. Personally I just think it's nice that he will now be associated with all of it on googlesearches;).
