I'm just going to post this here and say nothing more.

Holy crap,  what year is it?  1998ish?  Looks like a slightly upgraded sega Saturn game ...not that that's a bad thing,  but this project has a lot to live up to.  That marketing , heh...

Well, the marketing feels like it comes straight outta the 90s as well, so at least that's on point

I honestly don't get all the hostility. The trailer definitely seemed kinda retroish, a bit silly, but shouldn't you give the game a chance before totally bashing it?

Oh, I'm actually still very much interested in the game. It looks like it could be good fun!
I just really dislike the tone of that new trailer.

Let me put it this way --

As presented I would much rather play it than a 'real' Mega Man game.

YEah, that trailer was just godawful with that voiceover from last decade. Who's brilliant idea was that really. Otherwise game looks ok, might get it on some Steam sale in the future.

Wow, I must be the only one who was slightly amused by that trailer. Sure, wouldn't get me to purchase the game, but I was still amused.

So, Might No 9, has anyone played this kickstarter funded game? Well, IGN gave it a 5.6 and said

"Its flat, lifeless art style lacks in both fidelity and character, and while it has some novel gameplay ideas, they’re never fleshed out or executed well enough to elevate it past its basement-level production values."

Dang, glad I didn't support this yikes

On the flip side, Bloodstained looks great based on the demo.

I mean yeah it's pretty much just Aria/Dawn of Sorrow but....still.

'Mighty No. 9' And The Tragedy Of Kickstarter

"More often than not, it also takes oversight to make sure that money is spent well, that the game remains manageable, and that a retail release is actually feasible."

To be fair, sometimes kickstarter delivers, sometimes it does not. More often than not, kickstarter is "worth" the money in my opinion. It is very unfortunate that with some $4million Inafune failed to deliver a "decent" Mega Man clone...

By the way, if anyone was looking to purchase "Mighty No. 9 Signature Edition" it has been sold out on amazon for a long time... but that is no longer the case. Why? -when the game started getting very bad reviews all the resellers that purchased multiple copies of the game canceled or returned their order. LAME, but then again, I'm not surprised hmm

I'm regretting supporting the Star Trek fan film Axanar.  Between the lawsuit, the no refund policy and the construction of a for profit studio from the backers money, I am at the point where I am nearly soured on the whole experience.   Then again this is the first and only kick-starter I have supported that has gone south, the rest have been awesome.

Might I ask how many you supported? So far, I have supported one kickstarter that ended up being a scam. It was for a book, and I lost about $40. As angry as I should be, and I'm kind of angry, life is too short to get so worked up over it.
