It's finally published!  An interview with Shimomura just went live discussing her work on drammatica.  Note that I did ask a couple of questions regarding other titles in her discography and about FFXIII Versus, but they were unfortunately cut.  Still some interesting bits of information and photos from the recording session:

Huge thanks to Justin here on STC for handling the translation, which came out great.  Thanks Justin!

That's curious to hear, this occurred this in the past already. I would think now being freelancing would allow Shimomura to speak more frank about her past (especially pre-Square) works (20th anniversary? she's doing game music since 1988?). I assume you went through Square Enix with this interview?

Yes:

I'm still not that knowledgeable about her Capcom works, but she was there since 1988 starting with Samurai Sword.

I guess the fact the interview focused so much on a Square Enix album limited her. It'd be awesome if you could one day do another interview about the rest of her career. Osama Monogatari is coming up!

Yeah, well, the interview with initiated directly with her, but she insisted that she run it by Square Enix because it was in regards to a Square Enix project.  So we'll see what happens in the future.

Yeah, out apologies.  I think it was simply "san" in the document we received.  I could have swore we corrected it within minutes of publishing the story though.  Do you still see the error?

EDIT:  Oh, the HE.  Fixed!

Haha, yeah, Thanks for pointing it out.

The Japanese version will be going live on Square Enix's music blog, so I know some people are interested in that as well.  We likely have you to thank for that precedent with your trilingual interviews!  =P
