I've been checking out some CDs on youtube and I came across some interesting tab on one of the videos I was watching:

For those who don't want to click the link:

⚠⚠⚠Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism and comment. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use.⚠⚠⚠
⚠DISCLAIMER: i don't own the right of this materials in any form,i have the phisical product but not the right of the eventual composer/owner to use on yt,so please if you are one of these two categories contact me before doing something that can harm my reputation's on youtube platform,we can find a civil way to resolve the story without any problems for sure!many thanks for attention⚠ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Donations link:

The first part, is it just me or do people just not understand fair use? I shouldn't be surprised by this, should I?

The second part, I don't see why a copyright holder should be so gracious and contact you first to avoid "damaging" your "reputation" on youtube. Screw your "reputation," you're some nameless, faceless person on youtube. I could understand this if part of the what your were presenting was partially yours, but it's not.

Third, I don't understand the Donations link. I should donate to you because you uploaded an album, something anyone could have done and technically don't have the rights to do? Are you going to take those "donations" and buy more albums? Again, I don't understand why anyone would donate to you.

Everyone on youtube nowadays seems to have their hand out , whether its a patreon or some other way.  Surely they probably haven't gotten much if any, but others certainly do though they also probably put more work in.  Also, if they aren't commenting or critiquing then yea not fair use... almost like they didn't read it at all =P  Also, even if they were doing so you can't just add something in its entirety either.  Then again most people don't even bother with the pretense and most copyright holders don't enforce it on youtube.

So basically, people rip-off music from someone, and plop it on their youtube pages in the hope that the composer/copyright holder doesn't notice or doesn't care. Video game music is pretty niche, so maybe people won't really care. A very popular song/band of course has their own official page, and they regularly uphold their copyright. As for the guy saying he owns a physical copy, what a load of bullshit! You can't just plop the CD or tracks on youtube and say it's "fair use"! It's not!! As for his "reputation", well, it's the reputation of a thief honestly. Grrr....
