Tonight, www.ignwii.com has just uploaded two new movies of ZELDA:  TWILIGHT PRINCESS; one of them is the title screen demo, so I could hear a bit of the music.  What I heard of that cue sounded absolutely incredible.  It's a very quiet, melancholy soprano boy's choral hymn with low instruments (I couldn't tell if they were MIDI or orchestrated)--and it's beautiful, nearly similar in style to the choral portions of Howard Shore's LORD OF THE RINGS scores.  The only other clip is an expanded trailer with the same music we heard a while back ago.  It sounds great.

I can hardly wait for the game's soundtrack album to come out--depending on who will publish it--Scitron, Pioneer anyone?  Pony Canyon?

That intro just screams nostalgia.  The direction reminds me a lot of Ocaring of Time's intro and the music, particularly the choir, is a direct throwback to the Zelda 1's opening theme (just as OoT's "Title Theme" used Zelda 1's recorder motif).

The vids in the link Cain put up are just cruel.  They're way too short!  Just giving us crumbs!

Edit - I wish they'd release the full song to that last IGN video they put up back in September (the one with the Hyrule Field motif).  That piece was sweet.

I had to listen to the video again to determine whether the haunting choral piece was actually a rearrangement of ZELDA I, and when I did hear it a slow grin creased across my face.  And I do agree that the clips are too short to really give an impression about what the actual music will be.

So far, though, it sounds like TP is shaping up to be another worthwhile ZELDA soundtrack.  While some listeners have expressed dissatisfaction that the previous three ZELDA soundtracks--OoT, Majora's Mask, and WindWaker, respectively--didn't exactly sound orchestrated, it sounds like TP will be the one to break the trend--if these previews are any indication.

The only thing that matters is whether a soundtrack album will be released.  Personally, I hope so; ZELDA's a very popular franchise in Japan, and I don't see why they wouldn't make one.

They're gonna release a soundtrack.  Trust.

I'm so psyched for this game now, I don't know what to do.  I can't wait to hear the music either.

The second trailer had some nice scenes!  That mysterious cone-headed dude (who I suspect is Ganondorf!) at the beginning and end of the trailer and that clip of Zelda doin' some funky magic trick at 1:56 has me really anxious to play it.

I'm pumped for this game, but I haven't seen a single video for the game nor a single note of the soundtrack. I like to be surprised!

Yeah. Whenever I intend on playing a game, I usually stay clear of the OST until I've heard it ingame. I like the experience to be fresh. I do give in to watching some videos though...

Anyway, I can't wait for this game. I've never really listened to Zelda music outside of the game, but I do love the music of OoT and MM and I can hum every single note of those games. And I for one really hope to see a return of those wonderful mysterious ambient songs of the dungeons.

I noticed in this new Wii Experience Vid they posted yesterday, it seems like there's a lively retooling of Lon Lon Ranch/Epona's Song

Understandable, I've been real light on information as well, although watching the Title Screen intro which is only about a minute, it's going to be amazing when that sound fills my living room with my 6.1 setup. If anything that's completely watchable, the trailer however definetely has stuff that might spoil, but my policy tends to be if it's an official trailer it has something the company WANTS you to see to get you excited for the game like the difference between seeing a movie trailer and a behind the scenes special that actually goes into -plot and everything.

But that's just me.

Just one little snippet won't hurt!

The last time someone said that to me I ended up waking up in an alley smelling like Jack Daniels with a migrane and a cast on my right arm.

^ LOL!

But the title video and two trailers don't really show off anything too revealing.  At least watch the intro, it's nice!

Lot'sa videos poppin' up for this game all of a sudden...

Check out Matt's impressions after 10 hours of play time:

http://wii.ign.com/articles/744/744044p1.html

I'm really surprised (and still a bit skeptical) about the claim that you can play this for a long time without your hands/arms aching, but I hope it's true.

I'm also a little shocked about the estimated length of the game: 50-70 hours.  That's more than twice as long as 3D Zelda's tend to run.  Wow.  Here's hoping it's meaningful length and not collectathon stuff.

Simply put, I'm freakin' looking forward to it.  December 14th can't get here soon enough--yeah, I'm picking up the GC version; sorry but I ordered that one first, and I won't be getting a Wii until my next birthday next April.  On top of that I have games to finish on the GC, so I'm in no rush just yet.  I WILL purchase one eventually, though!

In the meantime, I hope Kenny's right about there being a soundtrack album.  I've become somewhat doubtful because while the GC had games with fine soundtracks (the two most recent ones I finished whose music I loved were Paper Mario:  The Thousand Year Door--which is amazingly better than its more lacking N64 score--and Fire Emblem:  Path of Radiance--I still have a while to go on this one, but the music is simply awesome), many of them never got released on CD.  I sure hope this same tradition doesn't fall to the Wii games as well.  Nintendo had better sell truckloads of systems and games if we're going to see more soundtrack albums from them.

On the other hand, ALTTP, OOT, MM, and WW all got one, at least the later three soon after the game was out.

By calling the people who want the Gamecube version fools, Matt isn't making himself any friends.

So?  His comments don't bother me one bit.  I don't care what he says.  It's all about YOUR choice, period, not someone else's opinion of it, agreeable or not.

Well, yes. I could care less about what he thinks. It's just amusing to see how many people are freaking out about it.

Frankly, I don't give a damn.  What other people think about something I'm interested in is not in the same league as what I think, which is what it should be.

Keep in mind that Matt is criticizing people who say they'd rather have the NGC version than the Wii version, not people who are getting the NGC version because they don't plan on getting a Wii.

Amazingu Nov 6, 2006

I ain't watching or listening to ANYTHING related to this game anymore.

I just want EVERYTHING to be a surprise.

Whatever you do guys, don't go to IGN Boards.

**Spoiler**

I made the mistake of visiting the Zelda board that linked at the bottom of each IGN  Wii Zelda article and was met face to face with a gameplay shot of Link in some serious new armor...  Holy shit was it an awesome pic, but I'ma bit disappointed.  Time to avoid all game sites from now 'til the 19th...
