Soundtrack Central was started when E.R. and Seinfeld ruled primetime, the "world wide web" was a buzzword, and English coverage of video game music was limited to the occasional side story or overpriced import CD in the back of EGM and GameFan magazines.

Since then STC has published hundreds of reviews and hosted thousands of discussions with the purpose of sharing the incredible variety of great game soundtracks and similar music to the world.
