Mediocrity, plain and simple.

Unfortunately, there is not much to say about the Vandal Hearts soundtrack. Those who enjoyed the richness of the Genso Suikoden soundtrack or the musical instrumentation of Symphony of the Night will be very disappointed here.
There are 46 tracks separated into six chapters (from the actual game's subdivisions). Tracks 1 and 46 are the same song (to signify a cycle, I suppose). The song is a brief vocal piece in a language I have no clue about. Track 45 is a medley of some of the tracks in the game and is probably the best track on the CD.
The overall instrumentation of this CD is weak compared to Konami's other soundtracks. The music sound like something an 8-bit MIDI sound card could produce. Considering the current state of the art, I think Konami could have chosen better musical equipment to compose the tracks. After listening to Symphony of the Night and Genso Suikoden, the Vandal Hearts soundtrack is clearly inferior.
My honest recommendation is to avoid this soundtrack like the plague. It is hardly worth the money.
