I just saw it on IGN:
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/877/877102p1.html

my initial impression... ugh! Looks more like Final Fantasy than PoP! also, talk about an original storyline: "Legends tell of an epic battle between good and evil"... yup, that's a new one. So, where's the originality? Granted, you never know until the product is done, but so far so bad.

cheers,

You were uhh... expecting originality in a Ubisoft game?  Really?

(well, from something from Ubisoft that's not a Michel Ancel project, I guess I mean)

I dunno... it looks okay.  I'm fond of the art style they're going with for it, and I enjoyed the last trilogy quite a bit.  I desperately want them to do better QA on this one, though... it would be nice not to have constant minor glitches and potential game ending ones like the last two have had.

All I want is to be surprised and amazed with a storyline as good as Sands of Time. I LOVED the twist at the end.

Yes, I did. I'm just glad that a new POP game is in the works. For someone as cranky and jaded as I am, it takes a lot for me to get excited - but this has me excited, based merely on potential. The POP trilogy are three of my favorite games on the PS2 (yes, all three of them), so I have some faith that this will at least be good enough to finish (bugs or not, dammit).

I'm in complete agreement with you.  It reeks of Final Fantasy, and I really have no idea why this series has go so wrong since the excellent Sands of Time.

I dislike the meticulous choreography for some reason.
