American Nightmare Sep 2, 2015

I just discovered a few weeks ago that these were released back in March:

Path of Radiance: http://vgmdb.net/album/49947

Radiant Dawn: http://vgmdb.net/album/49948

4 discs apiece.

I'd been hoping for a release of PoR ever since playing the game (several times through) on the GameCube, so I ordered it immediately from CDJapan (only $25 USD thanks to the current exchange rate). Sound quality and packaging are top notch. It comes with a cardboard box large enough to house both sets, although I haven't decided whether or not to order RD since I haven't played the game and don't have a nostalgic connection to it like I do with PoR (not that that's necessary to enjoy the music, but it helps).

Anyone else pick either of these up?

I picked them up really only because Nintendo very rarely releases music so I figured this would be a gem.  It is pretty good.

Radiant Dawn's music is superb. Too bad the game was not in the same league as PoR, but it was still enjoyable. The Black Knight theme is still one of my favorite boss themes, and the Black Knight is truly a wonderful "villain" in PoR. Again, too bad the whole story went to hell in Radiant Dawn, but I will always have fond memories of PoR and everything leading to that amazing showdown...

I was gonna say this. Nintendo doesn't release music much these days so if I was into Fire Emblem you bet I'd pick these up.

Totally disagree with you on Radiant Dawn.  I thought it was a superb game that fleshed out the mechanics of the first and it was great to see the narrative come full circle.

Anywho, I know I'm going to buy these, but I've been hesitant due to the awesome rips that exist for both games.  I'll do my due diligence since I want to encourage Nintendo to release more OSTs to disc.

I always found it to be quite ironic how Nintendo released OSTs regularly in the N64 days than they do nowadays with all they invest in production values these days.
