I've been playing Phantom Brave for the first time (since I got it back in 2005), and I've been listening to the soundtrack. And! I. SIMPLY. MUST. HAVE IT! Y'see, I didn't get the version that came with the soundtrack.

And while I've gotten the arrange album, it's only half of the soundtrack. Any know where I can download it, get a game rip, etc.? Little help? Please??

The complete soundtrack was offered with the Japanese LE. The disc included in the NTSC release, that Zane linked, has half of the actual OST.

Alex has these soundtracks from time to time at really reasonable prices. That's how I got my copy of Disgaea 2. Last time I checked he had a copy of Phantom Brave for ~$30 so you might want to check with him.

Didn't the US game just come with the arranged CD too?

NISA's "Special Edition" version had a disc that contained about half of the unarranged music. I'm guessing that those who said it was the arrange disc just looked at the tracklists (which were off by, like, two tracks) and assumed it must be the same thing.

As stated, the only way to get the full OST is through the Japanese LE. Copies of the full thing, including the game, were floating around on YHJ! for ~3000 JPY last summer, so you might want to look there.

I used to have a copy of this disc, and I listened through it and couldn't tell a difference from the Arranged CD, other than track order. That and, according to the disc, track 6 didn't exist (I did some guess work on that one though).

Well the most obvious is that the tracks and order are different on both. Take a look for yourself: Bonus v. Arrange. Red HamsterX also pointed out the bonus disc contains no arrangements, and I can confirm that as well because I have both. The review is entirely incorrect.

Yeah, I took note of the track order difference in this thread, and I believe I mentioned it in the review. If not, I'll fix it.

Are you sure the bonus disc contains *no* arrangements? I've always had a rough time noticing the difference between the OST and arrange albums from Sato's NIS scores because...well...usually the biggest difference is track time!

Anyway, I'll need to spend lots more time on researching this. I used to have the bonus disc but sold it off. I never owned the arranged disc though, just had mp3s for awhile...and I didn't write a review for that album either.

I'm absolutely positive that the bonus disc contains no arrangements. The tracks it contains are no different from those on my LE version, except for a slight volume difference, but that might just be my imagination.

I mis-remembered the number of differences between the tracklists, yes, but that doesn't change what I think happened: that someone just glanced at the lists, noticed a fair number of similarities (about half), and jumped to an incorrect conclusion.

To be fair, though, I agree that sometimes Tenpei Sato's arrangements aren't as wild as they should be. As much as I love his work, what I really want is a an arrange album of Disgaea-style music with the oddness of his Bible Master 2 soundtrack. Or another Phantom Brave.
