There was some discussion about these guys awhile back (thanks to Zane...did you ever get to see these guys? ;p), but I gotta say...I don't really know what to say about their new CD...Other than a loud, high-pitched "DAMN!" It's some killer shred material of some old favorites and really well-done to boot.

Check the samples (especially the Mario one!). Well worth the $12 pricetag and then some. And they even provide the custom Guitar Hero charts for a couple songs. ;p

Nah, man! That night I tried to get out there last year was a nightmare. They were playing about 15 minutes from my house, and when I went down to the club at 7 PM I was informed that the order of the bands was switched and Powerglove was going on last, between 11 and 11:30. They were originally scheduled to open, sometime between 7:30 and 8. I love me some metal and I love me some VGM even more, but I'm not going to sit around for four and a half hours waiting. They're from several towns over, so I'm sure I'll catch them sometime.

I don't post too often, so, when I do, it must be something special (been a lurker for years and years besides buying/selling), but you were not kidding.....DAMN!  Thanks for pointing me their way :-)

There is vgm metal, but this is truly VGM M-E-T-A-L...(insert Rob Halford wail)!

The nod to SSH using his Mario remix and just their styling/instrumental arrangements are top notch....typical Power Metal with liberties in original melodies for a twist……the Zelda and Final Fantasy IV pieces are truly favorites of mine!  If you like double bass drumming, some great odd time changes/flourishes abound.

Tracklist as follows:

1. So Sexy Robotnik (Sonic)
2. Mario Minor (Super Mario World)
3. Fight On (Killer Instinct)
4. Vanquish The Horrible Night (Castlevania)
5. Blasting The Hornet (Mega Man X3)
6. The Duck Grinder (Duck Hunt)
7. Power. Wisdom. Courage (Zelda)
8. Omnishred (We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Sword)  (Final Fantasy VII)
9. Holy Orders (Be Quick And Just Shred) (Guilty Gear)
10. Metal Kombat For The Mortal Man (Mortal Kombat, Mega Man 2)
11. Red Wings Over Baron (Final Fantasy IV)

If you like hard rock/metal vgm arrangements, have no fear in getting this...

Merry Axe-mas! (yeah, yeah, cheesy, I know)
