Majesco, DIC Entertainment and Konami Team Up For a Berry Special Dance Dance Revolution Featuring Strawberry Shortcake

New Plug'N'Play Game to Debut This Fall

EDISON, N.J., July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ:COOL), an innovative provider of digital entertainment products and content, and Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today announced Strawberry Shortcake(TM) Dance Dance Revolution(R). This Plug'N'Play product combines the high-energy dance gameplay of Konami's hit Dance Dance Revolution(R) (DDR) video game franchise with Strawberry Shortcake characters and music.

Strawberry Shortcake Dance Dance Revolution lets players experience the exciting action of DDR with a Strawberry Shortcake twist. Featured characters include Strawberry Shortcake, Blueberry Muffin, Raspberry Torte, Lemon Meringue and Rainbow Sherbet dancing along with themed music such as "Straw- Buh-Buh-Buh-Buh-Berry Shortcake." As a Plug'N'Play product, Strawberry Shortcake Dance Dance Revolution connects directly to a television set without a game console, delivering an interactive experience on a custom Strawberry Shortcake dance pad. The game features a two player mode and multiple difficulty settings that make it easy for players of all ages to enjoy, while the game's lively music makes it a great source of active fun for the whole family.

"Konami's Dance Dance Revolution franchise has shipped four million units in North America and has become a true cultural phenomenon," said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing, Majesco Entertainment.  "We're proud to add to this success with our new Strawberry Shortcake product that brings two strong properties together in a consumer-friendly, Plug'N'Play format."

Dance Dance Revolution is the only video game in which players move their body to upbeat tunes while allowing them to exhibit their own innovative flair and original dance moves. DDR combines quick reflex action with energetic dance music for intense "get-up-and-play" fun. Players are challenged to match their dance steps with the flashing arrows on the screen while keeping up with the music's beat. Since its home video game console debut in 2001, the DDR franchise has sold more than four million units in North America.

Developed and manufactured by Majesco, Strawberry Shortcake Dance Dance Revolution will be sold and distributed by Konami for launch this fall.  For more information on the DDR franchise, please visit http://www.konami.com/gs.

None that I've heard about, but if anyone knows of some promo disc I might've missed, please speak up.

High on the list of things that keep me up at night is that people collect paychecks thinking that sort of stuff up.

I wonder if the Peculiar Purple Pieman from Porcupine Peak will make an appearance.

*LOL* I dunno, maybe it'll sound a lot better in the game than it does transliterated. ^_~ Although, I read the press release a little more carefully, and I just realized that it's a plug-n-play game and won't be on any system. I wonder what this'll mean for price? Especially since it's supposed to come with its own dance pad. I'm rather morbidly interested in playing the game, just to try it out and check out the tunes. Wonder if Blockbuster will have it available for rent.
