I just updated the site with 13 soundtrack reviews from the Super Robot Taisen series. Many of these soundtracks had previously been untouched by our community, and a number of tracklists had been left partially or entirely untranslated across the internet. Obviously, it's taken me months of work to get this puppy together. If someone wants to transfer some of the info to GMR, that would be a-okay with me.

I hope you all appreciate it! I know I enjoyed learning about the series while working on this!

Neat. Considering we've had SPC sets of "Super Robot Taisen Gaiden: The Lord of Elemental" and 4th Super Robot Taisen" for ages already it's nice to see confirmation that they actually got OST releases. Do they have per track composer breakdowns? If they are more detailed than what we already have I'd love to get my hand on them and update the respective sets on snesmusic.org. ^^

Nice, I didn't know who did the SRW Alpha soundtracks. Now I can tag some stuff properly.

finding composer info on the SRT soundtracks is a severe, SEVERE pain in the buttocks. Some of the info I got from the reader reviewer who scanned the packaging for me, and some i found on Lantis's website, but it was TOUGH to dig it all up. We still don't have entirely accurate info on IMPACT and MX, and I hope to find that soon.

For SRT Gaiden, The Lord of Elemental:

it's actually as the page at RPGFan says. I should probably drop the "Various" at the end (I usually use that for the anime songs, but it looks like SRT Gaiden didn't borrow any anime music). But yeah, every track except for track 3 (which is originally attributed to Shin'ichi Tanaka) is the work of Daisuke Fujimoto.

Ah, thanks for the clarification! I first thought the "(3)" refers to three tracks, not track 3. Also thanks for linking that detailed composer breakdown at Chudah's site, that's adding some goodies. Now we occasionally have three different names for the same tracks tho. <_<

I am so happy to see this series finally get some exposure in the English-speaking community. I've been collecting SRW albums for years, and the Alpha Original Score trio are some of my favorite VGM releases of all time.

I noticed in your reviews that Everywhere You Go was popular - be sure to check out the first Alpha drama album [LACA-5032] for yet another exclusive vocal version of it.

Also, JAM Project has released four albums so far that collect, among other things, the full versions of all their songs for the franchise - most of which are not done justice by their short OST versions.  The opening theme for the OVA ("Meikyuu no Prisoner") is one of their best.  Interestingly, some of the album versions of the songs differ from the singles - for example, the album version of SRW Alpha 3's "Gong" begins with about a minute long string section that's not present on the single. Neat stuff.

I've been looking into the JAM Project stuff. I did not realize that they would have THREE different versions of one song (in-game, full-length single, and then LONGER album version). I'll have to check it out.

Also, I want everyone to know that we will be covering literally *every* game-related Super Robot Taisen soundtrack in the next month or two, other than drama albums (and possibly the one Ichirou Mizuki album released by Nippon Columbia). I've hunted down a bunch of them on Y!J that no one seemed to know anything about, including an old First Smile OST/Arrange for the first SRT Alpha (released a year before Lantis's "SRTA Complete" album).

It's a legacy, and I'm all for it.
