Has anyone heard of this game or the Soundtrack?  It's really good actually.  I don't know where I got it from, but it came on during a shuffle play on Winamp. A nice surprise.

It almost sounds like they hired american musicians, instead of a japanese sound team.  I could totally be wrong here, and it seems odd they would do this for a late stage PC Engine shooter.  Curious if anyone has information on the musicians / arrangers?  This is one rockin' soundtrack, all live musicians.  What sets the songs apart from typical red book audio is these are full song (i.e 4:30 to 5:00 minute song lengths) (hmm maybe this is not redbook?  May be an arranged CD.

I see Einosuke Nagao, Keiji Takeuchi, and Katsumi Tanaka in there, among others. The same three did Space Megaforce for the SNES, and they've all worked on various Puyo and other Compile games.

It's perfectly possible for Red Book audio soundtracks to have tracks that are that long. Of the top of my head, several T's Music soundtracks do: Sappire, Lords and Gate of Thunder, etc.

Thanks for the information

Ok, I located the game, and the red book audio, and what I have is not the same.  I believe this is the Sylphia Hard Rock arrange.  If you are into well played hard rock instrumental music with live instrumentation, this is, surprisingly, really good.

Here's a couple of cuts:  http://www.stormedheaven.com/sylphia.zip

Yep, all of the stage themes are either 4:31 or 4:32 on LoT Sega CD redbook. All the boss battles are 3:02, too. Hmm... I never noticed that before.

I have this game.  For years people wondered if it was made by Compile as it has a Compilesque feel to it, but now it's known just some Compile guys worked on the music.
