june 18th when Matt rees posted his big sale in the marketplace, i immediately jumped on it and paypal'd him 185$ for 13 titles... a hell of a deal that i'd probably never have a chance to get again, and certainly not all in one lot...

well here it is 9 weeks later and i still have nothing... even surface mail wouldve arrived by now,, even if the boat sailed around the african cape of good hope, thru the indian ocean, and across the pacific...

had it been anyone else except matt i wouldve filed a paypal chargeback, but matt and i have been e-mail buds for 3-4 years now, and i trust him fully that he shipped them, so im just going to eat the loss... so now im out $185 AND the opportunity to ever get those titles again (most of them old NTT pscn catalog#s that are OOP),, and its all thanks to the royal mail parcel service...

so id like to take a minute to shout out a big f--- YOU to the royal mail... it doesnt put the money back in my wallet, but at least i can sleep tonite. I hope that seeing as how ive been a reg on this board for 7-8 years, this doesnt get deleted for being openly rude...

This is the kind of mistake somebody only makes ONCE.  I too got scammed when a post office in an African country looted over $100 cash out of a registered letter I sent to pay for anime CDs.  I got screwed and never got my money back.

Never trust ANY post office with anything valuable unless it is FULLY insured.

Heh, sounds to me like the seller took you for a ride.  What in bloody blue blazes are you doing sending cash to Africa, anyway?

Anyway, to contribute... back in 2000 or so, when I was collecting anything Squaresoft with reckless abandon, I won an Ehrgeiz OST from an eBay seller.  I lived in a pretty shady apartment complex at the time, and all UPS packages were dropped off at the apartment main office.  I went there after work to pick it up, and the package was obviously torn open, and the CDs were gone.  The Staples packing invoice was still inside, and it read something like 11oz, so I'm positive the CDs were actually shipped... I really wonder what Joe Ghetto thought once he realized he ripped off a CD set of video game music. :\

That's really the only negative experience I've ever had in the 8+ years I've been dealing with buying and selling.

My memory was fuzzy.  I meant to say South America.  I was mailing the cash to a seller in Brazil.  I had bought from him tons of times before that.  But I was still pissed.  I will never mail any kind of money besides a money order.  Otherwise I'll pay online by Visa or Paypal.  I don't even mail checks anymore because they're a target.

BTW, I have a First Press Ergheiz OST I bought from Yahoo Japan tongue

I don't think I ever listen to it though, same goes for almost every CD I own.

I remember sending concealed cash to Kahori in Japan many, many times, when I was at the height of my collecting obsession.  It made it there every time. :)

I've pretty much pulled the reins in on my collecting habits, and now only habitually collect things that Sakuraba-sama has touched in some way or another.  I still need to catch up on the VP2 CDs.  I got the first print with the box, so the rest can wait a little while.

I haven't sent a money order in well over a year... anyone now who's selling on eBay and doesn't accept PayPal or credit cards is just asking for their auctions to not be bid on.
