I would like to coordinate the purchase of this, is anyone going to be getting some for sale here stateside?
Thanks,

Oh dear Lord, I nearly leapt out of my chair when I read that the SNES version of the music is going to be on the CD too. The arcade version is okay, but I absolutely love the SNES synth conversion. I figured there'd never be a soundtrack for it, since one for the arcade music came out 16 years ago and there's been nothing since.
This totally made my evening.

"Hello Justin,
Thank you for your email. I will be able to stock this Area88 Cd, but
I'll put it on the catalog when they have more detail. Thank you very
much!
Best wishes,
Kahori"

The tracklist is here:

Also, it appears to have a new arrangement from the original composer of the arcade game. The arrange track from the original Pony Canyon album (PCCB-00018) is not included.
Track 26 is an unused tune. That wasn't on PCCB-00018 either. =O

Well, if she's going to get it, I'll probably pick it up since I'm already building an order there.
Album's up for preorder at VGM World: http://www.vgmworld.com/catalog/index.p … m_num=1103
Also, the tracklisting at http://suleputer.capcom.co.jp/suleputer … e_tgs.html looks like it's been finalized; previously it said that the SNES version track titles were temporary, but that note is gone now.
Now comes the wait.

That's funny because early Capcom SNES synth for the most part, paled in comparison to what Castlevania 4, Actraiser and FF4 sounded like.
I think most people here know by now how disappointed I was with how SF2 sounded on the SNES (at least the '92 and '93 editions).
UN Squadron is still an awesome game though, especially for first-generation. Had lots of replay value too (and probably still does).

Well, I didn't actually say that I thought the synth was good.
Sound quality isn't really a big deal to me at all, as long as I think the song makes good use of the sounds, and I thought the Area 88 songs were much better suited for the SNES synths used than the arcade ones; Mari Maruta and crew made the songs so much more energetic and less flat compared to the arcade versions. Even the new tracks like The Canyon in the SPC set are good too.
I finally got this OST, and DAMN, are the arcade tracks good. Way better than I was expecting. Melodies abound and the sounds are very, very pure (and by "pure," I mean it's great to hear something that really sounds like game music, you know?).
