WTF MATE?
Don't hold your breath.
I believe most movies that begin production usually never see the light of day... on the other hand, Hollywood does like to make horrible movies based upon famous games, so who knows?

Yeah, I mentioned this a while back: http://altpop.com/stc/forum/message.mv? … read=33987 Heh, as far as I can tell, the website to which I linked in that thread long ago has not really changed since.
The weirdest thing about it (reported via CHUD) is that Warren Ellis is on board to script it. Should be interesting to say the least.
It's been a few years, and it's still a bad idea.
Yep, there isn't talent on this planet that could make a good movie out of Castlevania. It's a no-win situation because if it's a film based on the games it will be cack and if they change too much it will be pointless.
But then... I liked Doom. Does that discount my opinion as far as game to movie translations go?
I dunno...I mean, is it really THAT hard to make a vampire movie with some decent fights and enough series references to keep fans happy?
Not saying it'll be good if it sees the light of day, but it would take effort to screw something like a CV movie up. I mean, as long as it ends with Dracula taken out by a four-sided boomerang, it'll be fine...

LOL...good point...it shouldn't be that GD difficult...however, what we all know and love about the castlevania series may be best characterized as "fandom" niches...and those don't translate well to the big screen. In fact if a video game does make it to the big screen, they get changed rather drastically...I would argue some things should stay in the Video Game world.
Also, when I saw the promo for "Van Helsing", I thought to myslef 'this is as close to a Castlevania movie as possible'...I can't remember that movie too well, but all the key figures seemed to be there...Castlevania however, started off as a regurgitation of classic 'horror' movie themes...
p.s. Happy Halloween
Yeah, when I saw the Van Helsing trailers, I was thinking that this would be Hollywood's attempt at passing a Castlevania clone.
And instead they passed something else entirely.
