These aren't reviews, but some basic thoughts. And I linked to each one in the IMDB.

Watching foreign movies is starting to replace my interest in game music. I've only bought a few vgm albums this year, but many foreign movies. I didn't really start watching them until just a few years ago. It's been quite a shock.

You've managed to list High Tension without mentioning how utterly cack the ending is. That shows great restraint.

Good to see R-Point on that list. I loved that movie.

Hooray for Audition! tongue

Jodo, not sure if you were going for alphabetical order, but if you were, check in Japanese films around "Ringu." The R section got pretty messed up.

Also, spend some time in the wonderful world of Bollywood. This dancer/actor named Prabhu Deva is my new hero.

ive seen a lot of the korean horror films you mentioned. I thought the whispering corridor movies kinda borderlined on cheesey. I suppose theyre aimed more toward a teen audience.

We just saw the Japanese film HAZE this weekend.. it was less than an hour long but it was a really surrealistic horror. Not as bad as mermaid in a manhole (i left the room cause it was too graphic)

Currently aquiring the Densha Otoko (trainboy) movie.. Ive seen the tv series and it was my all time favorite, but im not expecting a 2-hour consdensed version to be as good.

Nice list, I think I shall go ahead and watch most of the ones you have listed.

Regarding "A Tale of Two Sisters", I agree that it is by far the best horror/thriller movie from anywhere.

About "Kung Fu Hustle", I'm pretty sure it's not actually a parody of The Road Runner, but a parody of something else, Hong-Kong/Chinese related.

Also, I don't really understand what's so good about "My Sassy Girl", but for some reason everyone everywhere loves it, anyone could explain this one? Or maybe the subtitles I had were less than perfect...

***Start Spoilers?***

Lastly, I recently watched "Suicide Club"... it made absolutely no damn sense. Anyone who can explain anything that goes on in that movie is IMO, over-analysing it. smile

***End Spoilers?***

Well that's convenient. You say the film made no sense and then pull the shutters down on anyone offering an alternative point of view.

The film made no sense to you. If you're unwilling to look beyond what you don't get, that's fine. But you could well be missing out.

As for A Tale of Two Sisters, it gives the illusion of making sense in its explanation at the end. On a second watch, however, the film begins to fall apart when you realise that perfect strangers were seeing 'ghosts'. In trying to solidify the movie, unlike SC, it begins to lose its power.

Like most movies I finish watching, the first thing I do after is to check up on the IMDB boards to read up on other people's views on the movie.

The discussions there are also useful for movies with more "complex" movies such as Suicide Club. I have read other people's analysations of the movie and I don't buy it; it's a case of making something out of nothing IMO. But if you don't agree with me, then that's fine. I'll just continue to not "get it".

my vote for the worst asian horror movie ever is the thai teen horror flick 99999999,, about a phone number that if you call it after midnight youll die in a week...  of course curiosity gets the best of everyone and they all end up calling one after another like lemmings...

however if you get a chance to see the thai horror film SHUTTER, it more than makes up for 99999999...

That mermaid movie is part of "Guinea Pig". One of my friends downloaded it and deleted it shortly after watching parts of it. Although I'm attracted to intense movies, I've decided to avoid Guinea Pig. I'm also tempted to watch Cannibal Holocaust, but I'm not sure if I really want to watch that.

Oh, I just wanted to keep the Ringu movies in order (by storyline according to the back of the package). I know it's not consistent with respect to the listing, but it makes me feel better. I'm strange like that.

I've been looking into movies from India lately, as I know little about them. India, in terms of people, is absolutely massive. I imagine there are quite a few movies that would interest me.

So western people like it too, yeah! It's the biggest and most popular cinema in the world, I suppose one could find a good movie or two in there.;)

PS: You know how many MJ 'imitators' emerged in India around the 80's? Heck, many were (arguably) even better. But yeah, this guy is great.
