Admit it...the "...huh?" factor made you enter this topic, right?
Well, now that you're here, let me explain. It's a new idea I'd like to try out for fun.
The BGC is simply where you list video game soundtracks that:
1. You have in a format OTHER than a legitimate (most often CD) release...
2. A legitimate offering IS readily available, in spite of rarity and cost, and...
3. You just haven't got around to "Doing the Right Thing" yet.
Got that?
Okay.
Granted, I bet our trangressions are NUMEROUS, so if you like, you can limit yourself to only you big favorites.
First up...my confessions...and some rather lame attempts at rationalizing. ;P
1. DewPrism - Due to its previous OOP-ness, I was quite contented with the PSFs, and made myself a 2-disc set from it. Of course, SE just HAD to come along and reissue it...
2. SaGa Frontier 2 - ditto. Of course, I'm resistant because most of the tracks on the OST are unlooped, and my PSF recording is...four CDRs of Hama-goodness!
3. Star Ocean 2 (OST and Arrange) - I was tricked into getting the phonies. And when the PSF arrived, it kinda took away the desire to correct that mistake.
4. Valkyrie Profile (same) - likewise tricked on the Arrange album. Never did get the OST. Loved the looped PSF set. But alas, both are reissued and taunting me for being a naughty boy.
5. Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon - did you know that if you took the PSF-set recordings and the non-sequenced tracks, and burned them onto an 80-minute CDR with no gaps in-between, it'd just barely fit? WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE DONE THAT FOR THE OFFICIAL OST?!?
6. Wild ARMS (1 and 2) - Yeah, I could say that it's fair to have PSFed WA1 since the OST was incomplete, and WA2 because they weren't looped. But in the case of the first game, we now have a Complete Soundtrack. *whimper*
...and there would be others. The "Tales of" PSF sets, for one thing.
Okay, who's up next?
