I watched the TMNT trailer that IGN posted recently.  Am I the only one who remembers that, some years ago when this movie was originally announced, there was talk that it would be darker and closer to the original comics?  This trailer shows anything but.  It looks as silly as the cartoon ever was, and generally terrible overall.  And not just bad-movie terrible.  Video game movie terrible.

There's no way it'll be as awesome as the non-animated Street Fighter movie!

I was disappointed myself although not surprised.  If the plot comes through as that cliched in the trailer alone then you know we have a terrible movie in store.

Dude, I haven't even seen that one yet. Was it worse than the Super Mario Brothers movie?

Oh, my God! My friend and I were in Chinatown the other day, just tooling around, and we found a bootleg copy of a Prince of Tennis live action movie. It looks totally unawesome.

No.  While Street Fighter is pretty atrocious as well, my preteen self was able to see that SMB was a rape of the franchise in a way that I didn't notice a year later with Street Fighter.  Neither is recommended, though.

Doesn't it?  There are also about a billion versions of the Prince of Tennis musical out there.  That one can sort of be justified, though, with the fact that Japanese fangirls will keep buying new versions as long as there are new guys playing the characters in the locker room scene that I believe is present.  That said, they were playing one scene/song from it on the TVs in Animate once and by the end of my shopping experience there it had made me want to leap from the 7th floor and end it all... x_x

I've actually seen the live action PoT movie... it truly is totally unawesome.  It tries to stick about 70+ episodes of Prince of Tennis anime into about 90 minutes.  That and obvious CG tennis action and the usual DBZ-ness of PoT = 90 minutes of my life I'd rather have back.  I can't really believe I watched the show as ardently as I did.   heh
