I was browsing in the game systems/consoles section of eBay today, and noticed several of these auctions.

In addition to throwing in more stuff as the bid gets higher, they are claiming to give money back to the high bidders (at the end of the auction, of course).

They claim that the money will go to charity, and the winning bidder gets the swag, I assume.

But just how legit is this really?  What got me wondering was when I spotted a nother auction, by another seller, whose auction worked the same way, and whose description was almost a copy of the first guy's.

Maybe I'm just mistrusting due to the many reasons people can scam you on the internet, but this stuff has to be seen to be believed.

$200,000 high bid

$40,000 high bid

$25,000 high bid

What do you guys think?

It's bull shit!  I looked up one of the supposed charities (something about the Galapagos) and I found a .com website that had nothing but a few pictures on it!  Obviously the guy made the website in order to lure people into the auction.  As for the other auctions, they also smell like ca-ca to me!  It's so sad, but they say that thieves strike more during the Holidays than any other time of the year.
