Battle Gear 4/Battle Gear 4 Tuned and next-gen Sonic OST for me. I'll probably wait for Feb to score both Vth Vanguard soundtracks in one shot. High expectations for all three.
Game-wise, I expect to be playing catch-up for awhile, so I haven't even looked at what's to come. I'll probably throw down a pre-order for Ar Tonelico for the art book/OST sometime during Jan.
In VGM, I've already preordered .hack//GU OST 2, and I've also preordered the Ar tonelico "musical" (another drama)...though it's probably a Feb. release, even if PlayAsia lists it as January.
I'm tempted to pick up the "Rune Factory" OST (it's part of the Harvest Moon series), and I'd be a fool not to pick up Dawn of Mana OST. Just gotta decide how to put my orders together to maximize coupon usage from P-A. Also, a late Dec. release that everyone skipped, I might get the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl OST. Finally, the Jeanne d'Arc OST is tempting since it's an original PSP game from Level 5. But I know nothing 'bout the music.
As for games...I WOULD be buying Ar tonelico, except that NIS America sent me a free copy about 3 weeks ago and I'm already a good way into it. I didn't get the artbook/OST additions though (probably cuz they aren't printed yet), hopefully they'll send those along as well. I'm such a HUGE Gust fan, and the dating sim / futuristic twists that this game has (comparing it to the Atelier games) makes it so darn worthwhile...EVERYONE must play it.

Wild Arms the Vth Vanguard Original Score Vol. 1
For games, I'll get Wario Ware for the Wii and PW2 on the NDS.
The only VGM CD that I'm interested in that's releasing January is Nanosweep 4, which I'm pretty excited about. The first 3 were all great, so I'm sure this will follow suit.
Ar Tonelico is awesome
Glad to hear; I signed up for the "preregister to preorder" thing they're doing for the next few days, so I'm definitely interested in this game. I'm a pretty big fan of the Atelier games, and for some reason, I compare Shining Tears to them (sprites, slow loading times, whimsical music, released around the same time ).
Anyway, music-centric storyline, dating sim elements... heh, sign me up. Reminds me, I should probably play Rhapsody one of these days.
My Jan purchases include
- Rogue Galaxy (PS2) (if it's not delayed)
- WarioWare: Smooth Moves
- Dawn of Mana OST (haven't preordered yet, though.)
Hm, that's all... Sure beats the past few months that were eating my wallet whole.

Who's composing? Shimomura?
Ultimate Brain Games (DS) - FINALLY!?... maybe. It seems WiFi is removed and I'll rent with the option of buying so as to see how well the CPU Go is.
Gamewise, that's it. Sadly I never really got into the party/minigames thing, so Wario Ware doesn't even interest me. I doubt I'll even rent it.
Moviewise, I'll probably continue my silly Marvel movie collection and pick up the animated Invincible Iron Man movie.
I've plenty to play anyway; I think my backlog is in the double digits now. It's worthwhile to save money anyway as February and March appears to have stuff to get, although I may get a couple of Wii titles I overlooked (Elebits and maybe Super Swing Golf), because having more of a backlog is what I really need.
It's DS adventure month, with Phoenix Wright: JFA and Hotel Dusk looking like potential buys. I just picked up Trace Memory, and have yet to play it, so I may end up waiting for Hotel Dusk. What I won't wait for, however, is the release of Picross DS, which I've been praying for since the DS was announced.
A single CD release for me this month: Hime Trance presents Hostrance. I'm hoping that "Hikari" will be a trance cover of the Utada song, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much.
Sadly I never really got into the party/minigames thing, so Wario Ware doesn't even interest me. I doubt I'll even rent it.
If The Amazing Ass-Shaking Wario Ware Smooth Moves Microgame doesn't change your mind, I don't know what will.

Looks pretty sweet! I can see Zane organizing a Boston Wariothon

It's all about Parodius Portable this month. I've been waiting for a Parodius game to hit the portables like forever, so getting five in one shot is a godsent. I'll likely pick up Twinbee Portable and Salamander Portable while I'm at it.
On the DS side, Phoenix Wright: Justice For All and Hotel Dusk. If I'm picking up the Wii this month -- and outlook is looking pretty good -- then certainly it'll be The Amazing Ass-Shak..... erm, WW: Smooth Moves.
Seiken Densetsu 4 Original Soundtrack is an instant purchase for me, and also put me down for Hime Trance presents Hostrance.
(On a side note, I've gotta pick up Chibi Robo. It was that single game in 2006 that was constantly nagging at me to buy..... but as good as everyone said it was, I just couldn't find myself plunking down the full $50 for it. Now that it's marked down to $9.95, I'm snapping it up with a triumphant smile on my face. ^_^)
Games
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Collector's Edition / XBox 360 - it comes with a ton of extras, including the soundtrack!
Metal Slug Anthology / PSP (if they don't keep delaying it)
Soundtracks
Nanosweep 4 - like Zane said, the Nanosweep albums are guaranteed to have enjoyable music
Armored Core 4 - I know it was released last month but festivities kept me from picking it up before VGMWorld's holiday closure. It's gonna be a long wait
Metal Slug Anthology / PSP (if they don't keep delaying it)
Well, scratch that. GameStop has it pushed back to Feb. 1 now
It's been out on the Wii, Nick.

That's great for those who have it! I really don't want the PS2 version. I'll just have to wait, I guess.
Just Phoenix Wright Justice for All and Rogue Galaxy; I'm going to wait and see on the Wario. I'm hesitant to purchase the Seiken Densetsu 4 OST until I hear some impressions too.
Phoenix Wright: Justice for All
Wii Play
Wii Play
That got delayed in the US until next month. Most likely because of the wriststrap change (I notice Wii-motes haven't been all that common since those complaints arose) and our litigious society of retards that can't control themselves properly while playing games.

Not an excuse for delaying it. I bought a second remote at Japanese launch and it already included the new version of the strap, so it's not like it took them any time at all to make that change. I'm actually quite annoyed with Nintendo that they delayed Wii Play instead of Wario Ware... I have to wait to have a full complement of controllers for multiplayer games until that game comes out; until it does, I'm stuck playing 3 player only. :\
Hm, then I wonder why Wii-motes are so hard to find around here. Oh well.

Oh, thanks for that information.

I personally have no plans to buy Wii Play (I don't need or want a third wiimote and $50 is rip off for a tech demo), but I do think Nintendo made a very odd choice in pushing it back. Wii Play is a title that will appeal to Nintendo's desired non-gaming audience while Wario Ware only appeals to gamers, so you would think NOA would want to get it out as early as possible like they did in the other territories. After all, Wii Sports is pretty much the only non-gamer friendly title on the system right now, so the sooner Wii Play hits, the better for Nintendo.
Metal Slug Anthology / PSP (if they don't keep delaying it)
I don't understand why this compilation hasn't been announced for Xbox??
Why is SNKP all buddy-buddy with Sony all of the sudden?

I'm guessing their games didn't sell too well on Xbox, so they're trying to put them on systems the Japanese actually buy. I'd be surprised if they even sold 5000 copies of their various Xbox games (outside of Japan).
To be fair, they're not exactly jumping in line to develop PS3 games.
With a bit of luck the delay to Wii Play is to make the game actually worth playing. I don't own it (my Wii is US) but have played it and the free Wii Sports is much, much better. I would hesitate to say that Play is worth the $10 rather than just going ahead and buying the remote alone.

It's kinda funny that SNKP-USA is located right here in NJ now, heh
I've been more committed to my money market lately, so that's why my list of purchases is so slim.
This month, I'm going to buy one DVD. It's the highest grossing film from 1980s Korean cinema and it's finally coming out on DVD. It's called "Deep Blue Night". Based on what I've already seen from that decade, it should be very good.
