Slow month.  Not a whole lot, but I must admit that I'm really looking forward to Meteos: Disney Magic.  I always thought the original had a great design, but when it came to the actual gameplay, things seemed a little too rush-rush and random to deem it a solid puzzler; the new vertical screen and tiles orientation sounds like it'll make for a better implemented game.  Hope the music turns out good, too.

Final Fantasy VI Advance.... the port quality from a technical standpoint just isn't as good as FFV (Tose is back in the seat, go figure), but the promise of a new and/or touched-up translation makes this one I'll definitely check out eventually.  In the meantime, I'll be all over Lunar Knights.

If Final Fantasy VI is my last GBA purchase then I say it goes out well.  Lego Star Wars II was my last new Gamecube purchase (I'm picking up some oldies so I overlook those, like me buying RE4 again for the GCN today for $9.98).

Anyway, my February:

Retail games (in order of current release):
GBA Final Fantasy VI
Wii  Wii Play
360 Crackdown

Virtual games (hopefully MS and Nintendo follows through):
VC Super Mario World (SNES)
VC Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
XBLA Castlevania:  Symphony of the Night

I'm not sure about Band of Bugs, Luxor 2, and Paperboy on the XBLA.

DVDs:
thankfully, none

I don't think I'm going to buy anything that's being released in February. I will preorder that FFXI box, but that's not coming out until next month. Depending on how the FFVII album comes out, I might check that out as well.

Jodo Kast Feb 3, 2007

I was going to buy a DVD last month (Deep Blue Night), but it was delayed to this month.

4 Horror Tales, thankfully, is coming out in one boxset, at $35. They could've easily charged $25 a pop. Sometimes DVD manufacturers cater to us poor people. It comes with 4 Korean horror movies: February 29, Hidden Floor, Roommates, and Dark Forest.

So I'm getting at least 5 movies this month, if nothing is delayed.

Far beyond my own sensible reasoning I'm going to buy Supreme Commander... and try to get it running on my PC.

GoldfishX Feb 4, 2007 (edited Feb 4, 2007)

ARRRR! (Tonelico) is coming in February.

Gurumin will probably be one of the first games I pick up when I get a PSP, so I'll stick an asterisk there. Falcom makes great action-RPG's.

After IV Advance, I'm definitely trying FFVI on an emu before buying, but it would rock having a good portable version. Another asterisk.

And I can't not buy the second volume of Wild Arms Vth Vanguard after hearing how the first volume turned out...Unless they saved all of the bad material for volume 2...I doubt it, but possible.

we got about 10 minutes into february 29 before turning it off... it seemed too Kadokawa horror series made-for-tv quality...

No, don't take that out of context.  Before Crisis and Last Order are part of the whole "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII" project.

I picked up Karaoke Revolution: American Idol Edition today at bb, although I think it was released back in December.
The tracklist pales in comparison to KR Volume 2, but I guess they wanted to include songs that reflect the types that show up the most on the actual tv show.

Other than that, I still haven't gotten a copy of the Mother 3 ost, but it will definitely be in my next order from cdJapan next month (car troubles this past weekend have put me in the financial hole for the time bein').

sigh

I spent way too much on DS games in January, and have yet to even play all of them, so I'm grateful there aren't too many notable releases this month. For games, there's FF VI Advance and possibly Lunar Knights. For music/DVDs, it's Celtic Woman's "A New Journey" CD and concert DVD.
