I do.  I currently have the game and manual in a jewel case, but I saw this on eBay and ended up buying one:  http://cgi.ebay.com/Nintendo-WHITE-DVD- … dZViewItem

I hope I didn't waste my money.  Anyone else tried replacing the Wii cardboard sleeve with something else?

Zane Feb 13, 2007

I hate it, too. I want that shit to be with my other games!

Let us know how that DVD case turns out... if it's cool, I'll get one too.

TerraEpon Feb 13, 2007

I dunno. I don't quite trust anyone who makes such blatent use of keyword spamming.

Ryu Feb 13, 2007

Heh, those keywords are excessive, and I didn't notice that originally (which goes to show how much reading I do on eBay listings), but I did look through his feedback for negatives and found none pertaining to the case for 8 pages.

Jay Feb 13, 2007

Oddly enough the packaging never bothered me. Possibly because space is at a premium in my house. I think I'd rather all games came in little sleeves. That's just me.

Datschge Feb 13, 2007

Hm, I thought in Europe Wii Sports is packaged just like any other Wii game? At least it is here in Germany...

raynebc Feb 13, 2007

Where the hell did that guy get 50 of those cases?

Ryu Feb 13, 2007

The white cases themselves can be bought in bulk directly from Nintendo's online store.

oddigy Feb 13, 2007

Heh, back when Twilight Princess came out, the guy at GameStop was griping that the display cases kept getting stolen... it makes sense now.

Undoubtably the guy selling them either has a connection at GameStop or he's jacking them.  (I've gotten about 40 empty DS game cases for my GBA games from my manager friend at a local GameStop.  He just gives me the cases from games that people trade in.  Most of the time, they have the manual and original cover insert in them.  Anyone wanna buy a bunch of DS game manuals/case inserts? ^_^ (they sell the cartridge only as used... that would piss me off, and is a good reason to never buy a used DS game from that particular GameStop.  Hell, any game nowadays is completely useless to me without all of the original packaging, blah blah.

I wish Wii game cases were more sturdy... like PS2 cases.  Those are quality.

I don't mind Wii Sports being in a non-DVD case.  I'm sure there will be other demos and things to follow that will stack up with it.

Schala Feb 13, 2007

Yeah, I hate it. I'd like my games to be in cases in which I can easily get it out with less possibility of scratching it as I remove it. As it is, that disc (and Twilight princess!) are pretty well scratched. Although I think there may have been something in the Wii, like maybe those white plastic shards that someone mentioned before.

Actually, this auction is making a profit off of a custom cover produced by a fellow named Mookyjooky.  I have the high-res original, which he pulled after seeing auctions like this popping up.

Ryu Feb 14, 2007

Well, Mookyjooky should've thought about profiting off of his own work instead of being a commie and giving it out for free to let others capitalize off of his own error.  Now he knows better.  Why would he pull it (how can you pull a file off the internet?) unless he wanted to help cut out the competition to these auctions (what with getting it free and doing it yourself versus buying it on ebay)?

I'm certain I could've found it online but my printer isn't all that good and, to be honest, I'm too lazy and I would still have to wait for Nintendo to send a single case to me in the mail.  I hope the printing looks great...

Qui-Gon Joe Feb 14, 2007

I'm kind of torn.  On one hand I HATE dvd sized cases and wish game systems hadn't switched to them post-Dreamcast.  I have way too many games to want them to be in things so huge.  On the other hand, I also like consistency and hate cardboard sleeves where my discs can get scratched.  I think what I may try doing is writing to Nintendo over here and asking if I can get a replacement Japanese version case.  Or maybe begging someone at a local retailer for one of their display cases, but I get the impression they might just look at me with that "wtf did this weird foreigner just ask me?" look.

You're right but I bought a US system.

Stephen Feb 14, 2007

Game cases can be bought from Nintendo's online store in quantities of 1, 5, and 10.

I don't know about the cover.  Maybe a scan of the Japanese and European covers?

XLord007 Feb 14, 2007

I too hate cardboard slip cases.  It's way too easy for the disc to get sratched or damaged.  I put my Wii Sports into an extra black DVD case I had lying around.  Concerning DVD cases, I agree that they take up too much space, but they protect the discs better than jewel cases and they don't have places for dust to get in.  Would be nice if they had groves on the outside to make them stackable.

Since my printer only does black and white, it was worth it for me.  However, it isn't a Nintendo Wii case, just some generic white case.  If you have a quality color printer, I say do it yourself.  If you don't, then it is better than that cardboard cheap thing or a jewel case.
