XLord007 Feb 24, 2007

There's really no point in this post other than I'm trying to sober up and need something to do before I try to go to bed.  Anywhoo, I went out for my birthday with some friends tonight.  I don't think there was a moment between 8p and 2a that I didn't have a drink in my hand, and it was, as people I know like to say, "good frickin times."

You know what's great about sake?  It's so damn sneaky.  It's slightly stronger than wine, but it's so wonderfully smooth that you don't notice that it's kicking your ass until you try to pick up that 21st piece of sushi with chopsticks and wonder why your motor skills have failed you and you have eel sauce all over your shirt.  Damn I love the stuff.

Jay Feb 24, 2007

Happy Birthday! 28 is a good age. Mature, yet definitely still young.

Kenology Feb 24, 2007

Hbd!

Carl Feb 24, 2007

Glad you enjoyed your day, and hope your year goes well.
I'll be turning 30 next week, woot!

oddigy Feb 24, 2007

Haha, happy birthday. big_smile

Funny, my husband's b-day is on Monday, and he's gonna be 28 as well.

We're going out for sushi tonight to celebrate. (my treat)

May 28 be better than all previous years combined, y'know?

Schala Feb 25, 2007

Happy birthday! *throws regular confetti in the air*

I'd throw my usual confetti, but that would take a lot of explanation, hehe.

That'd be nice.  Mighty nice indeed. :-)

Wow, the big 3-0.  My best friend turned 30 last April.  Now, that was a helluva party.  Well, more of a reunion than a party, but great nonetheless.  Hope yours is as fun.

It's all downhill from here, mate! People are going to start calling you 'sir' and all those ambitions of being 'the youngest ever X' go out the window.

Amazingu Feb 25, 2007

I'm only 27, and I'm being called "Sir" for at least 2 years now.
Man, I must look really old sad

SquareTex Feb 25, 2007

By the end of May, I'll be - *gulp* 33.
And ALREADY I have a few grey hairs... tongue

BUt before I make this TOO depressing...Happy Birthday! big_smile

Carl Feb 25, 2007

Gray hairs are one thing, since you still get to HAVE hair.

Starting to go bald at 26 and being fully bald at 28 was a bit rough to handle for me...
Fortunately, after the initial shock and transition wore off, I can now accept it with full confidence and dignity.

Jay Feb 25, 2007

That quick, Carl?! I started losing my hair at 19 and it freaked the hell out me. In a matter of months, my hair had receded at an alarming rate. I used to have nightmares about it (really!).

Then, weirdly, it slowed. Never stopped. But slowed. I'm 32 now and still have hair on the top of my head, though it's very thin towards the front. I will be bald eventually. It wouldn't bother me now either way - that shock at 19 meant that I had to get used to the idea.

But full hair to bald in two years must have been more than a little traumatic.

Zane Feb 25, 2007 (edited Feb 25, 2007)

Happy belated birthday, XLord!!! smile

I'm not bald (yet) but I'm thinning a bit toward the back of my head, and my hairline is breaking away from my forehead like a bat out of hell. I don't let it bother me, though; that shit's out of my control, you know? Just gotta play with the cards you're dealt.

But Carl (and eventually Jay if he weren't married and eventually me)... some chicks love bald dudes. Fetishes and shit. Seriously man, you could be riding on a winning lottery ticket of unexpected sexual adventures. Time's a wastin'! Shine up that dome and go meet some ladies!

Jay Feb 25, 2007

On baldness, here's one thing that's really weird. Have you ever heard that when babies are born they look more like their fathers? Some people think it's nature's way of assisting the bonding process. Well, when my daughter was born, she had the exact same hairline as I do now. Like, exact same.

Ryu Feb 25, 2007

Hope you had a great birthday, XLord!

Happy B-day!
So, does it seem like just yesterday you were a little kid playing during recess in elementary school? smile

"Had we but world enough, and time...
...But at my back I always hear
Time's winged chariot hurrying near;
And yonder all before us lie
Deserts of vast eternity.
Thy beauty shall no more be found,
Nor, in thy marble vault, shall sound
My echoing song; then worms shall try
That long preserv'd virginity,
And your quaint honour turn to dust,
And into ashes all my lust.
The grave's a fine and private place,
But none I think do there embrace."

Late happy birthday XLord007!

I'll be 28 myself, on... the 28th feb actualy (true thing smile).

Crash Feb 26, 2007

Four days until my 31st birthday.  If I had been born 2 days earlier, I would have been born on February 29th, but it was not to be.

Since we're discussing hairlines, my dad is 59, and has a complete, full head of hair.  The only person in my family with any baldness evident is my uncle (bald spot in the back of the head, with a foot-long ponytail right underneath it).  My hair is getting thin up front, which is particularly noticeable after a haircut, but it's been that way for several years now with little signs of advancing, so I hope that's the end of it.

Jodo Kast Feb 26, 2007

28 was a good time. I bought a condo and played Resident Evil 4. I also discovered Korean cinema. I'm going to be 31 this June.

longhairmike Feb 27, 2007

I thought it was funny how that guy in the wallscroll thread kept referring to us as kids... some of us are old enough that we could have teenagers already..

..no thanks for me,,  shana and i are sticking to just bunnies... Rini, Usako, & Fubuki wont require college savings funds...

eb4eva2006 Feb 28, 2007

If you don't want to be bald than take propecia everyday

dma Feb 28, 2007

So I am 28 now. wink

Carl Feb 28, 2007

Happy Birthday to dma, and in a few days Crash too.
Have a great year guys!

Isn't that the one with the strong risk of "sexual side effects" and pregnant women aren't supposed to even get near the damn things?
