Any fellow posters actually meet?
In person, that is.

I met a few people when I was out in Chicago for the Play show last year. I met Miker, Kirin Lemon and Seph, Chudah, and Alex... although I'm sure I "saw" other forum members but didn't recognize them at the show, and I've probably driven by avatar! once or twice on the McGrath Highway.

Yep, that was a great time. And now Zane feels comfortable enough with me to give me imaginary cans of soup on Facebook.
Cloud V, sephiro444, and I all attended the same college at the same time back in 1999, and would hang out now and again, but I don't think... the three of us ever hung out at the same time, haha.
Other than that... *scratches head* don't think I've met anyone else.
I met Zane and Chudah at PLAY! in Chicago last year. I wanted to meet Carl there too but my stupid cell died and I couldn't get in touch with him after the show. I also met jb, Godai, and Naka at the first Dear Friends in Los Angeles. Met jb twice actually cause he came up here for a day once to eat at Olive Garden and see a Coheed and Cambria show with me and a couple friends, haha. Guess you could say I've met olmerd too but that doesn't count cause he's my friend in real life.

Hehe, and there was that one time we almost met up for a videogame concert at the Middle East in Central Sq, but things didn't go quite the way we had hoped! Still, it is a small world after all...
cheers,
-avatar!
I've met the_miker, Godai, naka, msia and Kurt I know from home, we lived like 10 minutes from each other and met in hs/coll (don't even know if he still posts here)
Qui-Gon Joe and Crash and I met up at the Xbox lounge in Tokyo last year before making the inevitable visit to Akihabara Then at last year's TGS Joe and Crystal and I met up for a bit.
Waaay back in the early days of STC (before having forums of any sort, I think), I shared a hotel room with one STC reader for E3 in Atlanta one year and hung out with a couple other readers the next. Good times... Kevin, Tom, and Jeff, you guys out there?
Adam (oddly frequently - it's really weird that you work for the same BoE as Jenny!), Crash, Crystal, and Xanadujin.
I only ever met Xanadujin and that was about half a year ago I think, here in Japan.
If anyone ever drops by Osaka feel free to drop me a line though
I've met a few people: Crash, Chudah, Godai, and a brief hello to Kirin Lemon and JB.
It was great spending a day with Kahori in Japan too.
Still here! Guess the only person I've met is jb then.
What's the equivalent of a VGMers' get-together? An OST ripping party?

When I met up with everyone in Chicago, we just... drank Jagermeister and beer.
remember at the dear friends concert in Chicago (its rosemont actually) when they asked the audience if they wanted a black mages style concert? even with the overwhelmingly loud response, here it is two years later and nothing
i can look right out any of the windows on my 6th floor condo and watch planes landing and taking off at O'hare... its really cool at night...

Not to sound like a stalker, but I did see you at Otakon this past year (you did the panel on shmups...I was the guy who answered "Galaga" every time you guys asked the audience something). I had to run out before the end though.
Other than that, I met Strohmie a couple times at the University of Maryland between classes (buying and selling CD's in person).

Well in that case - party at my house at 7. I'll supply the Kukeiha Club, you bring the Zuntata and JDK.
*Gasp* someone else who knows what Zuntata is..!

Heh, why did you do that?

If you need to wipe the tears of happiness away, I have a Zuntata hand cloth....

Haha, awesome.
Someone asked me to help with an import gaming panel for this coming year, though I don't know what's going on with it exactly. If that happens, drop on by!

I would almost state this: "If you don't know what Zuntata is, you can stop pretending to be a fan of vgm." But I won't, just thought that and typed it anyways.
We should have an STC Convention or something along those lines someday, y'know like a highschool reunion-type thing.
I mean, they do it on a huge scale with Star Wars and such, so why not STC too?

Uhhh... we ought to get a show of hands on this message board for anyone who DOESN'T know who Zuntata is. They're not exactly the most obscure for people who are fans of game music in general...

That's why this particular forum is an exception. There's other vgm sites and boards where people can't even name any games by Taito, much less know about OGR, Tamayo, or Yack.
It's more of an old-school thing, and most younger vgm fans just weren't around in the Ninja Warriors days to care about the group, when they've got new groups like the Black Mages to root for.

It's been casually mentioned before, but details haven't ever been discussed so far...
If such a thing were to happen, what would be the highest-ranking things you'd want to do as a group?
Rent a dance club and throw a vgm electronica dj party? Or have everyone bring a bunch of their cds and make it a big swap-meet, similar to an anime convention? (I've never bothered going to an anime convention myself, although others here probably do it yearly).
I've met Charlie Reinehr (Bamatone) on two occasions, but it's been a good two years since I last saw him. If there's ever another FF concert put on by the Atlanta Symphonic Orchestra, then I might run across a few more. An STC get-together would be awesome.
