I'm looking long and hard at SingStar Pop, since I've still got the Karaoke Revolution bug.  Has anyone tried "SingStar Rocks!" or any of the other games in the series?  Either way, the temptation to be able to belt out the likes of Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" and Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" is great.

Waiting for Nanostray 2 is killing me, so I might pick up Raiden III to satisfy my shmup urges.  I've got a feeling that Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales is going to be more about novelty than actual gameplay, but we'll see; at the very least, there should be some sweet Final Fantasy music arrangements to look forward to.  And yeah, there's that little game called Super Paper Mario.

I enjoyed Night At The Museum enough to pick it up on DVD.  With such history-rich elements in the movie, I'm hoping the two-disc edition will have plenty of features and documentaries that's worth perusing.

I have 2 movies on pre-order.

My Wife is a Gangster 3 - stars Shu Qi (from The Transporter and So Close). It'll be odd to see her in a Korean movie.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0439654/

Tears of the Black Tiger - An older Thai movie that's finally getting a good DVD treatment.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0269217/

As for game music, I might get the Soul Cradle arrange album.

At this point, probably just Raiden III (wow, that came out of nowhere) and Heroes of Mana OST are the only two scheduled.

I might also have to look at Chrono Chaos later this month as well. My differences with the last game in the series aside, I expect this one to rock.

My brother just called...and I know at least ONE thing I'll be buying in April.

Twin Peaks. Season 2. DVD.

JOY. smile

He says that it'll be at Fry's in Austin tomorrow, and he'll set aside a copy for me.

So far, for games, I already got Guitar Hero II X360, Star Fox 64 WiiVC, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles WiiVC.  Hopefully, Nintendo will release the already-released-in-EU Punch-Out!!, Castlevania, and Zelda II on WiiVC this month; otherwise, who knows what I'll (be able to) get from the VC and XBLA/XBLVM.

From retail, I know I'll definitely get Super Paper Mario Wii.  I'm still up in the air over Prince of Persia:  Rival Swords Wii.

On DVD, Venture Bros Season 2 and, on blu-ray, the Ultimate Avengers Collection.

I don't know if I'll get it right away, but

Konami Classics: Arcade Hits

seems pretty awesome! I just wish it was $20 like the other arcade hits instead of $30, but I suppose they charge more simply because it's a DS game. Of course that brings up the question, exactly what brilliant mind decided to produce an arcade compilation for a tiny screen when it would have been SO much better on the Wii, PS2, Xbox, etc!

cheers,

-avatar!

edit: Oh, and Raiden III looks pretty awesome too smile

Part of the brilliance is the portablity factor, you understand.  Unless your eyesight is tremendously bad, I don't think you'll have a problem seeing on the tiny screen.

Game-wise, it's a pretty decent compilation, but I think I'm going to have to agree it's worth about ten dollars cheaper than the retail price.  No matter, though - it's got Contra, so I'd fess up even $50 if it were priced so.  The rest of the games range from mild to slightly more engaging diversions.  Time Pilot, Rush 'n Attack, Pooyan, and Roc 'n Rope are favorites of mine, but playing the original Gradius reminds me how Parodius Portable might've potentially worked on the DS.

One of the biggest pluses with having such a collection on the DS and not a disc-based format is zero load times..... so getting in and out of any of the fifteen featured games is fast and painless.  Nice customizable options, too, like button configuration for all the games, rapid fire, variable difficulty settings, and screen ratio settings.  The jukebox music test, accessible right from the start, is a nice touch as well.

Why do you want Zelda II on the wii when it's been on the Cube in perfect form since 2003?

Accessibility, convenience, financial reasons... it's going to be a lot easier and cheaper for people to download Zelda II through the VC service than to hunt down a copy of the more expensive Collector's Edition disc for the 'Cube.

Pretty much, yeah.
