Yeah, I seem to be on a poll-making streak today! Anyway, I just noticed this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi … 0075152397

and I thought "DAMN! $220 for a used  SNES game..." crazy! Now, wouldn't it be cool if it came out on the virtual console? And in fact, I won't be surprised if it does make it's way to the VC! So then, what are your dream VC games?

a)For the real VC (so NES, SNES, TG16, Genesis)
b)For any system? That is, what classic games would you like to be rereleased? Either as a downloadable, or in a complilation (and I realize a compilation is not the same thing as the VC but I personally prefer compilations -you get much more bang for your buck!)

a)Earthbound is one. Actraiser I and II are two more. Starfox (SNES). The adventures of Lolo series (fun puzzle games)! Hmmm, I know there are more, but I fail to think of them at the moment.

b)I would LOVE to see a Suikoden collection (at least I and II)! Also a Ys collection, and a release of the complete Shining Force III (since only part I was released in the States... another example of Sega Stupidity)! Definitely we need a release of the updated Phantasy Star series!!

The good news, after all these years we are finally getting Castlevania Rondo of Blood smile
Of course the PSP is not the ideal system in my opinion, but I suppose Konami thinks it's "too old" to be released on a "modern" system such as the Wii, Xbox, or PS3... if only they knew how wrong they are...

Dracula X for the TG-CD.

GoldfishX Apr 11, 2007

Anything good we got hosed on the first time around in a console's lifetime, since I physically own pretty much every domestic game I want for the represented VC systems.

But if I had to start somewhere: Dracula X (PC-Engine), Sapphire (PC-Engine), Ys IV (PC-Engine), Sylphia (PC-Engine), Magical Pop'N (SNES), Seiken Densetsu 3 (SNES) and anything Fire Emblem, Goemon or Cotton. Probably many others I can't immediately think of.

Amazingu Apr 12, 2007

The current release list of VC games is good enough already, I just wish they made it a bit cheaper.

That said, I'd pay good money for a compilation of Konami Arcade brawlers: TMNT 1 & 2, X-men, the Simpsons, Asterix etc.

csK Apr 13, 2007 (edited Apr 13, 2007)

Oh bullox, it STILL costs this much?

But then again, this is that seller that prices everything WAY too high... it seems that one bidder gave in, so many its not a real indication of the price.  Frankly, I'd like to see Earthbound on the VC so I can pick up the SNES one in my lifetime!

Ok, seriously, I don't have a Wii yet and am not going to commit to it until they announce a Game Boy player sort of thing for it... but here are the ones I'd like to see:

Genesis:  Shinobi III, Echo the Dolphin, Space Harrier, Moonwalker :-)
PC-Engine: Dracula X, of course...
Neo*Geo (since supposedly its on the way):  All the big ones, of course, SS, KoF, Bakumatsu Rouman, even though they're ALL on the PS2 now.  Also the Sonic Wings games
SNES: Terranigma

And yea, I'd love to see some of those SFC translated into English (SD3, Bahamut Lagoon) but thats as doubtful as seeing them made into SNES carts.  I bet they will translate the games, don't get me wrong, but they'll be for GBA or DS... not a proper console!

EDIT:  Btw, that Player's Guide in the EarthBound auction, I see a bit off the bottom left corner - if I'm paying 200+ dollars for a "mint" auction I'd like things to be perfectly mint!

True, but then again people (a few at least) do pay! Also, some of his items are not nearly that outrageous. I do have to admit, I don't have that much of a problem with it because at least he's selling legitimate items, unlike custom-specialist and all those other asses out there!

As for your list of games, the good news is that Dracula X is indeed coming smile
The bad news is that apparently it's only for the PSP, but what can you do? I doubt Nintendo will release GBA games on the VC any time soon. I still kept my GameCube because of the GBA Player which is worth its weight in gold! What I would love to see for the Wii is DS connectivity. It would be great if you could attach the DS and be able to play on your TV, while still using the touch pad as needed of course. I really don't see this happening, but who knows.

question: I'm curious, what happens if you sell your Wii? What happens to all those games you downloaded?

Star Tropics I and II
Super Metroid (this will come, though)
DKC2 and 3 (probably show up too)
Kirby Super Star
Banjo Kazooie

csK Apr 13, 2007

Oh, of course he's better then custom-specialist, but I still don't like the idea of ripping out a poster from a old 5 dollar Nintendo Power magazine (not even ripping it out well!) and then selling it as "brand new, in perfect shape" for 30 dollars!  http://cgi.ebay.com/Super-Metroid-SNES- … dZViewItem

Yes, and it is also being remade in that packet no?  Its actually a really good compilation - remake of Dracula X, Dracula X, the SFC Dracula XX, and Nocturne in the Moonlight... all of the games chronologically taking place directly one after another (both in the game's storyline and real time!) I think those are good compilations, as opposed to something like jamming Chrono Trigger and FFIV into one disc or something.

I'm not sure, but I heard that if you sell your Wii or whatever, the VC games on the system go with it?  That is there is no way to retrieve them?  Is that correct?

I'd like to see (in English):

-Mother (FC)
-Mother 3 (GBA)
-Sin & Punishment (N64)
-Seiken Densetsu 3 (SFC) [sure, I played the whole thing through in Japanese, but it might be fun to have an official English version]
-Live A Live (SFC) [want this one very badly]
-Dragon Quest V (SFC)
-Dragon Quest VI (SFC)
-Front Mission (SFC) [assuming they don't bring the DS version here]
-Front Mission: Gun Hazard (SFC)
-Treasure Hunter G (SFC)
-BS Zelda (SFC)
-BS F-Zero (SFC)
-Radical Dreamers (SFC)
-Gargoyle's Quest II (NES) [only game in the series I don't own, though I did borrow it and beat it many years ago]
-Kid Dracula (NES) [always wondered how this turned out]
-Tenchi Sozo (SFC)
-Kid Icarus (GB) [yeah, I heard it's crap, but I've never played it]

Actraiser is coming, as it happens. Squix's first VC announcement. I've kinda got this icky feeling that only Enix's backlog is going to be put on VC while Square's backlog festers or gets whored out for full-retail-priced ports. 'You want VC Chrono Trigger? Ha ha! You'll eat your 7th Saga and LIKE IT!'

Anyway. VC.

I'd like to see many of the personal classics I listed in the other thread, as well as:

Beyond Shadowgate
Cosmic Fantasy
Dr. Mario
FF Mystic Quest
Mario's Super Picross
Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 NES (screw Itagaki and his retconning)
StarFox SNES
Super Punchout!
Tetris Attack
Yoshi
Ys...well, anything

That's stuff I either love dearly and want, or never played and want more.

Yeah, Squenix is making way too much money releasing Final Fantasy I and II on every platform under the sun to give them away for $5 on VC.

Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse and Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose! My childhood SNES favourites.

Qui-Gon Joe Apr 29, 2007

Mostly Turbo CD games.  And translations.  Now that Hudson has given us Battle Lode Runner, hopefully we can expect some more of that kind of thing.

Tengai Makyou II (oh, and Ziria, I guess - whatever happened to the English release of the 360 remake that 1up claimed was coming?) for PC Engine, translated.

Also on the subject of PCE/TG-16 games, anyone who likes multiplayer Dungeon Explorer for the VC would LOVE Dungeon Explorer II, which trumps it in pretty much every way.  What an amazing multiplayer experience that was.  It'd be nice if some of the SUPER RARE PCE games I've played (that are also quite good) would become available for mass consumption too, like Bonk 3, Dracula X, or Magical Chase.

Well, seeing as Dracula X is coming to the PSP, I think there's a slim to 0 chance it'll be out on the VC. Also, some of those games were quite large in size (since they were on CD), so I question how long it would take to download those on the VC? It seems to take quite a while to simply donwload an NES game, but it might just be Nintendo's unique method.

Right on.  I was happy that they ported the Magical Quest titles on the GBA (the sequels with Minnie and Donald were pretty good, too), but disappointed that Buster never busted loose on the system.  I still play the games from time to time.

Have they released Castle of Illusion for VC yet, by the way?

As far as I've noticed, NES games don't really take a whole lot less time to download than N64 games, which just makes no sense to me.  As for TG CD games, they confirmed a long time ago that they could (though they only confirmed normal CD games, not Super CD) - I imagine the way to do this would be to compress the audio into some tiny format.  The actual games on Turbo CD games are about the same size as any other 16 bit game - it's just the redbook audio that makes them take up a full CD.

Nope hmm
