Does anyone know if there are any official arrangments done of any of the startropics 1 music? (I'm assuming not, since there was no OST)

Yeah, I don't believe there was any. On the unofficial side, if you don't already know about it, there is a remix avaible at OCR that is decent in my opinion, done by Fairlight. It's titled "Test of Island Courage" and it captures the tropical feeling well.

I'd also have a question regarding this series: has the main composer (Y. Hirai) done any other music besides StarTropics 1 and 2?
