You don't have to. But it doesn't change the fact that I'm having to weigh the happiness of my family over the happiness of this community.
Whatever the case, I'm waiting for GFA to contact me. I'm not against an amicable resolution to this. But until then, I choose to keep the site closed.
Of course the happiness of your family is more important! If it really was the happiness of your family vs CC, you should let someone else take over CC. That's a simple solution. However, you keep talking about an "amicable resolution" which seems to indicate this is more about you than the happiness of your family (sorry, but that's the impression I think many of us are getting). So the question is, what exactly do you want?
As I've said before, it would be a shame to close down CC. Many people, not just you (Chudah) have contributed lots of hours into CC, so I personally think it's unfair to them to simply close CC "on a whim". Of course, it is your right to shut down CC if you so choose, but do keep in mind that if you decide to destroy it, ALL the hard work everyone has done, will be forgotten fairly quickly. Furthermore, I'm certain that someone else (perhaps GFA) will start a new database similar to CC, and lots of people will contribute to it, which again leads to the fact that people will forget about CC and all the hard work that went into it. I simply fail to see why you would want to destroy this? Again, if it's taking up too much of your time, that's perfectly understandable, and I'm certain there are people out there who are capable and happy to take over and keep CC alive and well. OK, I've said what I've wanted to

This scenario blew up like fire on gasoline, so my 2-cents will be short and to the point.
It's her site, and her choice to do what she wants with it, no explanations obligated.
Chudah: Yes, personal well-being & family & financial priorities take precedence over any hobby, so taking stock of your priorities is fine.
Good luck,

Those flaming Chudah pretty much prove her point.

Exactly, this is getting very ugly... it's so easy to kick someone when they're down.

And appalling to watch. Chudah, I hope that everything gets worked out. I've used your site in the past for track listings and especially for the wonderful translations of liner notes and I've always appreciated its presence.
I'm sorely disappointed in anyone here who thinks Chudah is being a "drama queen" for shutting down her site. Of course, this action may not be any more permanent than the actions of those who added her info to the GFA database. So to the haterz, calm down.

Like others have said, you know what you need to do. You and I, and many others here, know what it feels like to overwhelmed and consumed by this hobby. I always looked up to you because I saw that you knew how to manage your time wisely.
So if this incident is the "straw that breaks the camel's back," no one will blame you for it.

Okay, anyone who's posting just to tear into Chudah just needs to stop. I'm not saying I know the entire situation or really know personally well any of the people involved, but the amount of negativity coming out of some of you is just disgusting; it's also certainly doing nothing to help the situation.
I think this is a good time to look at how a lot of us probably look at things on the internet. I say "us" because I'm as guilty as anyone. How many completely take for granted all of the resources that we have? These sites that are such benefit for the hobby don't come free - they are the result of hours of effort and a ton of money. Heck, I know such an undertaking would be way too much for me and I don't even have a significant other to be concerned about. I think that far too often we don't realize how much the people who run sites like Chudah's Corner and STC do for us. Has anyone ever thanked people like Chudah and Adam for their efforts? I am so grateful for having such resources, and moments like this make me realize that I've never voiced that to their owners. So yeah... Chudah, even if you keep the site closed from here on out, I do want to let you know that I appreciae the effort that you've put into that site until now - it has helped me so many times in identifying composers or track titles or just seeing what the cover art of a CD I'm looking for looks like.
And on that note... I certainly don't blame Chudah if she decides to take the site down. I'm sure it's a big responsibility and a terrible time-suck, and if she wants to do that, that's her decision. Nobody can complain about her doing what she wants with her life unless they're willing to take up the reigns on their own. That said, Chudah, would you be willing to let someone do that if you do decide to keep the site down? I was so happy when Quasi took over the Falcom CD project from Kuno Christoffel way back when (and credit is still given to the founder!).
Anyway, yeah... enough with the bashing, and a big thank you to the people who are willing to put in the time, effort, and money to help all of the rest of us in this hobby. I've said it before, but it can't be said enough times - we are such an obscure, niche group that we certainly don't need in-fighting. Let's try to keep things amicable around here!

Exactly.
Remember when Soundtrack Central's (StC) forums were "out of control" with runaway spam postings? The StC community asked if the founder could user moderators or additional help. The founder refused to accept help. For many people on the web, people take their own work as a matter of personal accomplishment, so when the work is copied, it is upsetting. Other times, a person will decide to stop work for different reasons. In all cases, we should respect these people's decision on these matters, even if we do not agree with them. Insulting people for their decisions is stupid and unproductive.
