I'm going to a high school reunion. It'll either be illuminating or terrifying...

Crash May 23, 2007

I'm moving...to a house.  First stand-alone house I've lived in without my parents.  I'm still renting, but I'll get to have a yard and multiple floors and a basement and an attic.  Best of all, the owner is paying for heat and electric.

Ramza May 23, 2007

I have zero work-related responsibilities this weekend, so I'm going to focus on my *other* work, and plow through Atelier Iris 3 so I can have a review ready by Monday (posted on Tuesday the 29th, its release).

That's how I roll.

GoldfishX May 24, 2007 (edited May 24, 2007)

I'm going to help destroy the basement floor in my dad's house so we can get a new drainage system in. Looking forward to it...Kind of.

Also going to barbecue and probably work in a boat ride.

Edit: MAYBE some Odin Sphere on top of that.

Amazingu May 24, 2007

I have a damn presentation at University on monday so I'll be working on that all weekend, just when the Japanese Weathergods decided it was time to let the sun out. Oh AND my girlfriend dumped me, so I'll be just dandyhmm

Oof. Sorry to hear that.

For my part, I have to work for two out of the three days, but on Monday I might get to go to a barbecue, circumstances willing.
Also dredging out the bulk of my room in a fit of belated spring cleaning; I need to move my games and consoles in there because my cats keep pissing on the rug (and whatever they can pull down off of the table - farewell, my Twilight Princess guide) in the game room and I've done had enough of THAT.
Finally, squeezing in time on FFV Advance every chance I can get. I'm pretty sure my DS is going to be vomiting battery acid from overuse any day now.

Working.

So I got a date tomorrow night.  The girl is buying the meal (no we're not going to Mickey D's), and the movie...It's nothing serious, and we haven't hung out for over a month, but she is getting me back for an earlier date.  How cool is that?? Hopefully I can talk her into seeing 28 Weeks Later...

Saturday, I'm going over to my parents to hang out by the pool, and have a bbq, and my friend and his wife are coming over.  It's also my Dad's birthday. Lots of good food to be had..

Saturday night, the Chuck Liddle (UFC) fight is on, so I'll be getting that and having a few friends over.

Sunday, a friend is having a birthday.  Supposedly video games will be going on all day, and Call of Duty battles will be on deck.  Looking forward to that

Be safe, have fun, and god(S) bless

Oh, I really liked 28 Days Later!  I had no idea there is a sequel... I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I've just got my sister's dance function to attend, and my friend and I will probably try to finish Shaolin Monks this weekend (the game is total bollocks, but considering all the time thats already in it we might as well finish it.)

I just watched 28 Days Later, and it was not bad. I actually didn't think it was anything special, but it definitely was decent, and I did enjoy the empty scenes of London! Apart from the zombie motif, I felt like I had seen the plot somewhere before... and then it hit me! Isn't this the same thing (more or less) as the Transformers episode: The Return of Optimus Prime? Isn't that where there are spores which are easily transmitable and anyone (human or robot) infected flies into a terrible rage? Also, I kinda felt like 28DL was similar to Silent Hill and Resident Evil. I'm not sure why, but I thought it would make a better game than movie smile

cheers,

Oh, man! Aside from some co-op camera angles and cheap bosses, my girlfriend and I had a blast playing through that. It's a total popcorn experience. How far are you?

XISMZERO May 26, 2007

Didn't do it this weekend (just after the weekend) but I took a drive Upstate (New York) with the girlfriend and recaptured my childhood by checking out this historic Toys "R" Us. They still use that pull-ticket system here...

I can't tell if I caught a cold or if my allergies have been acting up like crazy, but my throat and head have been bugging me to no end, effectively keeping me in the house instead of out with friends. I'm supposed to go out to dinner tonight, but we'll see what happens with that.

As far as what I have been doing, I've been playing a lot of Aria of Sorrow and Chaos Field. I beat Aria 100% map completion in about 4 hours the other day, and immediately started a NG+ on Hard so I can get 100% souls and the cool extra weapons. I really think that AoS is the best post-IGA Castlevania title to date, along with SotN. I might rock some Viewtiful Joe 2 later on, but we'll see.

Jay May 26, 2007

Anyone actually seen 28 Weeks Later yet? Any good? I haven't got around to going to see it yet. Or any film. Turns out it's not easy going out with a young child. Who'da thunk it?

Nick G May 26, 2007

old school:

Taito Legends 2
Art of Fighting Anthology

and new cool:

Command & Conquer 3

Working, working out, watching NBA playoffs, may go out, but I'd rather sleep.  Typical weekend.  My life sucks. wink

csK May 26, 2007

wink You're not the only one.

I don't know, I feel we should have set the difficulty level of Shaolin at Normal, but noooo, we had to be hardcore tongue  I think we're pretty far, we're at the Goro ('Get 'em, stinky!') fight.  I love that every puzzle involves throwing a guy into spikes, fires, pits, trees...

I suppose I liked 28 Days more cos I haven't seen much of those sorts of films.  But yea, it reminded me of Res Evil too.  But I should watch my tounge, I don't want to encourage yet another film to game conversion!!

XLord007 May 27, 2007

Well, I played Ouendan 2, worked, and went out all today, I think I'm going to a cookout tomorrow, and I don't know if I'm doing anything on Monday or not.

jmj20320514 May 27, 2007

Working on my comic book and watching in horror as the girlfriend's soul gets swallowed up by TRAPT (Kagero II).

I made a MySpace page this weekend. Yeah, I know, I'm behind. But I'm really not well up on internets and whatnot. I only found out this weekend about using p inside these - <>.

Good thing you're married.  That MySpace nonsense plays havoc with lives of single people.  I've watched two close friends have their love lives twisted and tormented because of it.  Some things were meant to stay private.

Jay May 28, 2007

Really?! I never even considered that. I just thought of it as a place to put up some of my stuff and let others know of any more new things I'm doing. I don't think I've put anything up that's all that private. Why, what sort of things go on at MySpace?

Here's an example:  One of my friends has been dating this girl for about six months now.  She has been legally separated from her ex-husband for several years and has one child by the ex.  So, she takes a picture of herself, my friend, and her kid and posts this picture on her My Space page.  Her ex sees the picture, flies into a rage, calls her up and starts threatening to withhold child support which he hasn't paid in six months anyway.  I doubt she even realized that her checked her MySpace when she posted the pic.

Now, I'm sure the argument could be made that she shouldn't have posted that picture, but the whole point of MySpace is to share what's going on in your life with your friends.  I guess the problem lies in that "friends" often becomes "acquaintances" which often becomes "pretty much anyone."

Basically, MySpace faciliates and nurtures drama in relationships since any changes get spread to all parties so much faster.  I guess if you have no drama to begin with, you probably have nothing to worry about, but just be aware of potential side effects.

I was transplanting my DVD burner from my old computer to my new one since the old one finally cashed in its ticket and I wasn't going to sink any more money into it. <Sniff> Still, I got about six years out of that computer, I got my money's worth but it sure gave me a lot headaches.

Ah, yes. I could see how something like that could cause problems. No, I won't be going into any personal stuff at all. But thanks for the heads-up.

I've also heard of businesses tracking down their employees on MySpace and similar places to find out what they're up to.

Yeah, not only that, but employers look at social networking sites to see if they want to hire people.  So, make sure you never get too drunk around anyone who has a cellphone camera.

It was also bad luck that last week was one of the worst busy weeks I've had in a long time, so I missed him. So how was the vacation, Carl? Pictures!! ^_~
