I'm sure some of you know Adam Freeland from "Fear (Rez Edit)" from the Rez OST. He just put out a 2-CD mix album released by Global Underground, and it is fantastic.

Unlike most of the progressive house/trance mixes from GU, this one is very different. Disc 1 is a mishmash of robotic breakbeat and catchy dance-trance with some modern disco-ish stuff thrown in for good measure, and makes for a great, windows-down/music-up/sunny day CD. I couldn't believe how good it was when I heard it - after I picked the album up I just kept driving and driving until the CD finished playing. Disc 2 is almost polar opposite, with a more moody and ambient feel to it along with a little deja vu (one of the tunes has the same synth sound as a few songs from Ace Combat 03!).

The album is up on iTunes, so you can cruise over there and check out some samples if you're interested. I would recommend it for disc 1 alone, but disc 2 brings some great balance to the table. I only paid $18 for it, which isn't bad for a double disc (maybe I've just been buying OSTs for too long). Either way, great stuff, so go buy it and dance your asses off.

Didn't know anyone else on the forum was into this sort of stuff.  I just recently saw mention of that album on some of the DJ download sites but have yet to look into it.  Robotic breakbeat sounds good to me so will check it out!

Not familiar with the Fear track but "We Want Your Soul" is classic!

I'm not as into the whole DJ scene as I was several years ago when I bought every GU religiously, but I'm a fan of Freeland and Tsunami One and wanted to check the album out. It's been on repeat for two days straight, and I'm loving it more and more. It's fresh, which is what I like about it. I wouldn't be so hyped it if was another straight-up progressive trance or house mix.

After you check it out let me know if you can recommend any other releases that are like this one!

I've been listening to Adam Freeland for many years.
about 3 weeks ago I bought Mexico GU, - enjoying it quite a lot, if you guys are enjoying his work, you should definetely check his other albums out.
you should start with Now and  Them(one of my favorite albums), there is a Fear track there(the original Fear track, not the one from REZ but it's similar obviously, with lyrics).
there isn't a single weak track on it.
I would totally recommend another excellent brazilian DJ mixer - Amon Tobin, - Ninja Tune artist who just as a side note composed Splinter Cell Chaos Theory OST.
and you should get permutation and supermodified releases in the first place, (another of my favorites), there is a track called bridge on permutation which was used in Sega Extreme Sports, a Dreamcast Game back in the day(European release).
Adam Freeland and Amon Tobin are among my favorites musicians and if you dig electronic/progressive trance/breakbeat/drum'n bass, even jazzy paths(mostly from amon), you should definetely check them out.
you'll be glad you did.
