What does everyone think of the recent trend of games that play with visual tricks to accomplish new types of puzzle solving?  Super Paper Mario features a little of this, the entire game design of Crush is built around the idea, and Sony's new Echo Crome (go find a video if you haven't yet) puts a new twist on it.  Personally, I think it's pretty darn cool.  I was watching the Echo Crome video at IGN, and at first, I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on, but after a few seconds, it suddenly clicked and now I see why this game is getting so much buzz.

It's another way how to do more puzzle based games again. That was somehow lost on the way to hi-def, so seeing a puzzle focussed game style reappearing with some modern touches is very welcome to me.

I for one am looking forward to the localisation of Prof. Layton which is yet another heavily puzzle based game.

Yeah, that one looks nifty as well.  Apparently it's being planned as a trilogy.

I myself am REALLY looking forward to Portal, even though the concept was created several years ago already.

I can't say I'd go that far myself, but it does look quite cool and I might pick up the Orange Box at some point in the future after it's cheaper and I actually own one of the systems it is being released for.
