Sorry for all these e-bay/paypal related questions I've had lately, but I'm really confused as to what service is "Airmail" at my local post office. I want to keep my auctions open to international bidders but I really need some help so I know what the hell I'm doing if I do have to send something outside the US. In the link below which international service do you use to ship stuff internationally?

Any help would be appreciated.

You should use this link.

http://ircalc.usps.gov/

The link you posted was for special international services, which typically are quite expensive.

cheers,

The few times I shipped internationally I used the flat-rate envelopes...after the recent price hike it's $9.00 to Canada and $11.00 to any other country, for an envlope that will fit a few CDs/DVDs/games/up to 4 lbs. Depends on what you're selling though...but as said, international prices are quite high...

Oh, ok, I see where I was getting mixed up. Like you said what I posted was for special/business purposes.

I'm not sure if you've identified it yet or not, but the service that has replaced airmail is "First-Class Mail International". It ramps pretty quickly with weight, but it's still cheap enough for CDs and DVDs, seldom exceeding $3 USD.

Global Priority has become "Priority Mail International", and EMS is now "Express Mail International".

For those of us in Canada, if anyone is interested, all "Light Packet" items are airmail, and "Small Packet" (includes insurance) can be either.

I use first class airmail to ship stuff to people internationally, which more often than not is somewhere in or near Europe. For a well wrapped, slightly weighted CD it usually costs anywhere between $7 and $10 now since the rate hike. It might be less if you just use a standard bubble mailer, but I like to pack the merch a little more than just that when shipping soundtracks. Shipping to Canada is usually considerably less, maybe $4 or so.

Also note that if by "worldwide" you primarily mean €-Europe even the "high" shipping fee is actually relatively cheap due to the ridiculously cheap US-Dollar to Euro exchange rates atm.

Yeah, it might be relatively cheap if you are a European, but those of us living in the US don't find the shipping internationally cheap with a weak dollar tongue

If you sell something I assume the buyer pays the shipping?
