And my calves are killing me. I also didn't pass Stage 1.
I love having free weekends again.

Hey, look who crawled out from underneath that rock! What's shakin', brother in arms?
I tried doing the DDR pad thing on a number of games, though I either wasn't skilled or crazy enough to do it with games that required a lot of directional-pad pressing. I've played through competent sessions with the Bust A Groove and Parappa games, but you're right, they still take a massive toll on the legs.
Under a rock, indeed. Mostly due to my next-gen indifference and other such apathies.
Stacking a pile of books on the Square button actually helps alot with Gradius. Having no R1 button also complicates things. But I quickly found out that playing music games with a DDR pad is one of the worse things to do. Not fun at all, actually.
I remember trying Tekken 2, Spider-Man, and Tony Hawk with my DDR pad. It actually worked pretty well with Tony Hawk. The other two, not so much.
I once played through an entire Dynasty Warriors 3 stage with a DDR pad. It made Musou attacks even more awesome when you had to dramatically jump into the air and slam down on the pad!
Yes, peoples. This is what I'm talking about. Eff the Wii.
Eff the Wii.
*senses a Power Pad rave approaching*
Ha, I had no idea you could play GV with a DDR pad! For some reason, I thought the PS2 read it as a special controller and not a substitute for the regular keys. I just received a controller for Pop'n Music, and I wonder if I can do the same thing with it! *curious*
We should rally to try and have analog nubs somehow emulated on DDR pads. I want some Neo Contra action on this thing.
Maybe an infrared hip and/or butt-cheek sensor!
