If only I had bought some ADRs of Nintendo a year ago. Doh!

Do I dare ask where Sony falls?
Innovation? Sony's day under the sun is fading. They had better produce another GTA or Madden game quickly! Let's further by factoring in a huge price tag with no decent games!
/still can't find a Wii in stock at most stores I frequent around these here parts...

Indeed, all must pay for their arrogance sometime (as Nintendo and Sega did), and it looks like Sony's time could be now. So much for "the next generation of gaming doesn't begin until we say so".

Yeah, Sega was really arrogant back in the 32-bit days. Don't know if you remember any of the Saturn commercials, but . . .

No, I don't. I had no idea Sega was pigheaded at one point in time, especially to the extent that Nintendo was pre/during N64 launch and Sony is (was) now.

I would say Sega was more incompetent than arrogant. From all the information I've read about Sega's history from the Genesis/Mega Drive through Saturn, it seems they made several bad business decisions that eroded their fanbase's confidence (i.e. multiple add-ons to the Genesis).
I think the two people that may have made Sega look arrogant to people were Bernie Stolar and Peter Moore, and they made their public appearances during the late-Saturn and Dreamcast era. However, I don't feel that either one's public comments were nearly as arrogant as those made by Sony's people.

The only arrogance left at SEGA is hemorrhaging out of some (absolutely hilarious) website in the Brit land (http://www.ukresistance.co.uk/)
It really doesn't get any better than Resistance and their vehement, venomous and repeated anti-PlayStation spewing (and their Blue Sky campaign).
/not a PS hater...

Haha, that site is almost as funny as the "Sony Defense Force" one...

Ha, I love the Resistance! Funny site, I visit every couple of days. But Sony DF just scares me, since it seems the writers are actually serious in what they're writing!

I'm now convinced that the intent of SDF is sarcasm/satire/poking fun a Sony fanboys. I mean, Sony's rabid following is seriously idealistic about Sony's position right now... but I don't even think they can be that unrealistic.
Also, every PS3 game they've reviewed (including Lair) scored a perfect 10/10 while every XB360 game got like a 2/10! What the hell?

I guess it's a matter of some interpretation when it comes to Sega. In a way, believing that fans would fork over money for the 32x as a stopgap only to fork over more money a short while later for a Saturn was arrogant. But you're right, incompetence was the more apparent flaw in their approach, especially with how they handled the Saturn. I would imagine that we've both read that multipage "History of Sega" thing which used to be hosted on a site or two. I don't know if it's still around, though I wouldn't mind reading it again if it was. Gaming history is interesting.

I found it:

You can tell at times that it was written by a Sega fan, but it's an interesting read nonetheless.
