Would anyone happen to know of the best websites for really thorough information--composer/arranger/singer/etc for songs on albums--on his discography?
Cheers!

All I know is that he did Macross II and Evangelion.
All I know is that he did Macross II and Evangelion.
He's done scores for many Gainax works, particularly for Hideaki Anno--Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, His and Her Circumstances, and yes, Evangelion--all of those Anno-produced works are done by him. His musical style is alternatingly bland and intriguing--the score for Nadia in particular--which I reviewed for this website, is a mixture of both.
Anyway, another place to find out what his Anime credits are is this link to AnimeNewsNetwork.

He also happened to be the arranger for the uneven Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale album, which explains why some of those arrangements on that album came across as a bit bland.

I've never seen a Shiro Sagisu "discography" page in my life. But I would really like to find one. I generally agree with Jon's summary of "alternatingly bland and intriguing." The last bit of game music I heard from him were the few tracks he added to Shining Force NEO. The "Shining Theme" album has them, and I believe Shining Force EXA borrowed a few of the songs as well.
I know very little about what he did for anime. I knew he did Eva, as I used to own like *every* Eva CD known to man. I did not know that he did Nadia, and I think I'd like to hear that sometime.
I will be on the prowl for a more comprehensive Sagisu site to help you (and me) out.

PS - Thanks Jon for the reminder on FFVI Grand Finale! I had known that to be the case, but I have a bit of outdated information on RPGFan.com from the olden days, and that was one bit that needed updating. Thank you!
Shiro Sagisu has appearently been in the scene since the 1970s. Inarguably, his pivotal works on Neon Genesis Evangelion is what rose him to fame.
Even thought he's done it all - from classical, orchestral, jazz, R&B and rock here and there, Sagisu has a sound you can often identify throughout most of his pieces. His music often touches on dark, moody music (Bleach, CASSHERN -- definitely give that one a listen), to uplifting, gospel-themed (Shiro's Songbook series, Evangelion VOX), to classical/orchestral strings arranged goodness to jazz (Evangelion and KareKano/His & Her Circumstances). But in all his works, the sounds intermingle. For those who are close to Sagisu's music can find the signature sound within.
He's a bit of a "unique" looking fellow whose always smiling, but I don't know, I am infatuated by this man and his works.
Just when you think you've heard all of Shiro Sagisu, you'd never know he's also been involved with the J-R&B scene (and has toured with many London-based vocalists and musicians). Actually, his series of "Shiro's Songbook" albums exhibit that, promoted right here: http://www.ro-jam.com/
Lastly, here's what you need if you want to become a Shiro Sagisu enthusiast:
Neon Genesis Evangelion I, II & III (or the S2 Works)
The End of Evangelion soundtrack
CASSHERN Original Soundtrack
Bleach Original Soundtrack Vol. 1
Shiro's Songbook ver. 7.0
Neon Genesis Evangelion I, II & III (or the S2 Works)
Shiro's Songbook ver. 7.0
Are the songs in OSTs 1-3 all on S2 Works?
Are all the songs in the Songbooks new songs or any of them reinterpretations of previous works?
Thanks and thank you to everyone else as well.
S2 Works has all the songs from I.II.III
But they're in different orders, and might have different track lengths.

Thanks. Unfortunately it's all in Japanesey.
The S2 Works is the compendium of Evangelion soundtracks. It doesn't just contain all the tracks heard in the series but alternate ones/takes as well (with layers of music/instruments included/excluded). To my knowledge, they're titled by Anno like they are on the volumes (I, II and III) and are also easier identified by their codenames given by Shiro Sagisu himself. That being said, there's many exclusive tracks here not found anywhere else even if most of them are iterations of the main ones found on the volumes.
The Shiro's Songbook volumes have in the past had some reprisal tracks rearranged or remixed in future volumes. Ver. 7.0, the latest, contains all new material and even some stunning instrumentalists not featured on the other discs including some notable players; Shin Kazuhara and Eric Miyashiro (trumpets), Hidefumi Toki and Osamu Koike (sax). It is (very fun) R&B and gospel though, which is in the vein of his Songbook albums. CDJapan might still have samples up though I have the album itself.
