I think it's the first time he's been interviewed in English?  Or ever?  I have no idea, I just know he's hard to get ahold of.  I really enjoyed reading the interview.

PS - If you can, perhaps make the suggestion that Yamamoto release Prime 2 and Prime 3 through Team Entertainment, since Nintendo is being LAME lately?

Any composer can have his music released through Team Entertainment?  And I just noticed... I never seen any non-Sakuraba soundtracks published by TE.  Not saying there aren't, of course, but rather, in my own collection.

Well, Rockman 7 & 8 are being released through TE rather than Suleputer which is odd to say the least but it supports the fact it is possible. BOFIII appeared on the TE label but that was prior to the Suleputer label existing ('98's Biohazard 2 being the first.)

So this isn't the same Kenji Yamamoto responsible for the Dragon Ball series music? I think this has been toyed with in the past, but I'm still a tad confused.

Same pronunciation/romanisation, different Kanji. The Nintendo one is 山本健誌, the Dragonball one is 山本健司.

Question to Arcubalis: Who's answering the questions as "Retro Studios"? Scott Petersen?

I was asking the PR manager if I should credit Scott Petersen, but he said a few Retro team members contributed to the responses.  There were about 5 members on the sound team, and I know Frank Bry is an independent sound engineer who isn't a Retro staffer, so who knows?

This is an excellent interview.  The questions were not the usual interview questions.  It's always nice to hear more detailed information about sound equipment, sound programming methodologies, and work collaboration.
