So I'm sitting in the front of my house on the laptop playing Castlevania ST's through the laptop..I'm looking to make sure the kids aren't taking more than their fair share, which some seem to be.  Greedy little @$(**(#

What really grinds my gears - kids who don't dress up and expect candy....What the heck!?!  Get lost bub!

I'm going to the store in a minute, I'm going to leave the candy dish out...Let's see if there's anything left when I get back.....

*smirk*

I live in one of those "I'll buzz you in" apartment buildings and hence, I haven't had kids walk up to my door since 1999. It's not common to get that kind of attention in the big city anyway but I do miss giving children indigestion. wink

So I went to the store and came back home twice...and BOTH times, empty candy bowl....

I really don't know what I should have expected,  but I am still surprised.  Next year, I'm going to do up the house and have a spy camera setup..If i see them taking more than one, I'm going to scare the crap out them.  Sound effects and all...Still digging the Castlevania music in the background smile

I like the ones who expect me to go down the driveway to bring them the candy. Had a whole pick-up truck full of kids (half without costumes) going through the neighborhood and I guess that's what we were "supposed" to do. I just stood at the door and they drove over to the next house. Just meant more for the ones who actually walked up the house.

I did some part-time work managing the student store at the school where I'm a resident advisor.

Kids came by ALL EVENING in halloween costumes. And they'd look at our rack of candy and go "OH, free candy!" And pretend to take some. It was funny the first time.

After two hours, I'd heard the joke 15 times. No longer funny.

I worked so I didn't deal with anyone (a first in years, I typically get Halloween off and I usually don't do the door greeting).

Halloween isn't magic anymore when you pass 11 or 12 unless you're into irresponsible drunkeness and, well, the consequences of such (at social gatherings) after such imbibery. I went out last when I was 16 and I felt damned silly and too old to beg adults for candy so I stopped.

It's for the kids, leave it as such.

/sips coffee from his pumpkin-themed mug though...
//listened to the "Dracula Perfect Selection" version of Bloody Tears rap a few days back to get in the, pardon the pun, spirit...
