Anyone see this?  I saw it opening night (tonight)  The 3D was fantastic.  Make sure to see it in a theater that offers this ("Digital 3d").  (I wonder if they'll release the 3D on a DVD, I don't see why they couldn't...it was very effective).

Great acting,, story, execution.  Some good humor too.  Overall one of the best movies I've seen this year, and in a while.  A definite classic.  The advertisements had me thinking it was going to be 300, but it's definitely not 300...Some sex (ohhh...Angelina...) and violence.  Surprised it's PG-13, but they did well with 'tastefully' redacting any 'R' elements

Anyway, check it out!

The commercials on TV over here hail it as 300 meets LotR, which I'm not sure what to make of, since I hated 300.
Still catching this though, definitely one to see in theaters methinks.

All I can think when I see the commercials is "why are they using this creepy CG that actually looks worse than the Final Fantasy movie that came out like six years ago?"

Remember learning about this epic/story in Brit Lit but to be honest, I wasn't terribly interested in it. Wanted to see the movie because of Crispin Glover as Grendel and because Bob Zemeckis directed it (a BTTF cast reunion of sorts). After I discovered its in 3D, I thought what a clever move on how to market a story like this into the mainstream and have it click outside audiences who may not be inclined to see it.
