I've noticed that now and then after I do something (post, edit a post) I automatically get logged off STC. Has anyone else experience the same thing, and if so why? If not, why? In short, why?

I've been having the same problem too, actually, what with having to log in twice, even after having logged in, or of being logged out after making a post.

It's been going on for about the past week, at least. And here, I thought I was just going delusional from overwork.

Same prob over here.

I suspected it had something to do with the navigation links to the right of the forum, however that was disproved just now.  Seems the site likes to be logged into twice before the commencement of replies and new posts..

Hmm. I haven't had this problem on either of the machines I use. One is a Mac with Safari, the other is an XP box with Firefox. Both have my credentials saved, and neither boot me out.

I've also had to login twice on each visit over the past week for the login to actually register.

I haven't had that problem either--like Zane, I'm using XP and Firefox. Is anyone experiencing the problem using Firefox?

I've had this happen a few times in the past but not recently. I'm running XP with IE.

XP w/ Firefox, whatever the latest version is (seeing as how I just updated it).

And now, it doesn't seem to bother logging me out, either, not that I ever told it to automatically save my screenname.

Vista with Firefox.  No problems.

Hardly ever reply anymore, but when I do, no problems.

I'm having this problem with XP and IE.

Actually I think this may have happened to me when using my school computer the other day.  Took two shots for it to actually log me in.  Usually I stay permanently logged in on both my PCs though and never have any problems.

Would like to give it a few days to see if things persist but if you do have login issues please post here and describe what happened.  Do you have to log in twice consecutively?  Does it log you off after having logged in recently, and does it follow a particular action?  Is anybody who is always automatically logged in having problems with the system logging you out?

If you're not having problems no need to say so.  I will assume the best

No login problems, but posting actually crashes my browser (though the posts do get through). I have Windows XP SP2 and Firefox 2.0.0.10. I'll try with Firefox 3 soon.

Aside from a couple of posts in the test post thread (linked above), I haven't noticed any comments about having login problems in the past couple months.  Is nobody (fingers crossed!) experiencing problems with logging in and logging out anymore?

If people are still having issues I certainly want to get it sorted out so please please tell me about any quirks you're experiencing.

I personally have never had the forced log out problem that others are reporting, but I have the double login problem every single time I come to the site.  I've noticed that this problem only happens the first time you come to the site.  For example, if I login twice and log out, I only have to login once to come back in.

For reference, I have had the double login problem on both Windows XP with IE6 and Windows Vista with IE7.

So this is since around the time this thread started, not since the very beginning of the new forums, right?

Hmm by the first time do you mean the first time after you've opened up your browser?

I have exactly the same problem as Xlord007 though I have Windows XP and Firefox.

Still been having the problem with having to log in twice, since my last post in the thread (it's the second post in the thread).

It can get really frustrating, especially when I'm trying to update my sales thread before I get logged out, or before my connection drops, for that matter.

Sorry but I'm still having problems.

I can't login from the main index.
But if I go into a post, then I can login.
Open Topic->A random post-> login

This is with Windows XP IE 6 AND IE 7.

With IE 6, cleaning out cookies did not help.
IE 7, never had to try.
