Angela Nov 30, 2007

Glad my checkbook made it out of November relatively unscathed.  Winding down to the final month brings along some of my most wanted DVDs.  There's Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End and The Bourne Ultimatum, two of my favorite films of the year -- not to mention Harry Potter And The Order of The Phoenix, The Simpsons Movie, and Frasier Tenth Season. I'll pick up Stardust as well, since I missed it in theaters.  (Did anyone catch it, by the way?  Opinions?)

Just two games, and that's assuming they stay on schedule: NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams for Wii and the PS2 version of Kiki Kai World.  I just have this nagging feeling they won't.... especially Kiki.

I'll wait for impressions before going for the 20th Anniversary Rockman 1-6 Rock Arrange and Techno Arrange albums.

CDs:

- Lumines Remixes Winter
- Lumines II Remixes
- Rockman Techno Arrange

I'm fired up for those two Lumines albums (I love the cool blue "remix" of the original Lumines album: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-na- … 2eed.html) and after hearing the Rockman Rock samples (which get less and less enjoyable the more I listen to them) I decided to save some cash and not pick that one up. I'm looking forward to Hosoe's Techno Arrange CD a whole lot for a few reasons, but primarily because 1) Hosoe is The Man, and 2) he's already proven that he's a very skilled arranger. I'm staying away from the samples on that one, and am just going to hear it in full when I get it.

Looks like it should just be the blu-ray Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End for me, for the same reason I limited my November purchases (that is, to make it easier to shop for me for Christmas).

GoldfishX Nov 30, 2007 (edited Nov 30, 2007)

CD's:

Shin Sangokumusou 5 (depends on who's composing)

Definitely sampling the Rockman Techno/Rock Arrange, Lost Odyssey and Guilty Gear Overture OST's (okay, the second volume is a day into the new year...oh well) in full and numerous times before buying and doing likewise with Shin if Yasumasa Sato isn't involved. I have a sneaking suspicion none of them (aside from the GG Overture Vol. 2) are going to be worth purchasing, based on how this year's releases have gone down.

Games:

Neo Geo Battle Coliseum (woohoo!)
Kiki Kai World (not holding my breath for a December release...wasn't even listed on the GameFAQs release schedule)

Just...wow, what a lame December, release-wise.

According to Amazon it's been pushed to February. Also, there's been a name change:

"Heavenly Guardian" doesn't have the same ring to it. The screenshots do look good, though.

As for purchases, probably just The Simpsons Movie this month. Looking at release lists, I'm also surprised by the lackluster quality and quantity of game releases (at least for systems I own).

If the killer cover art is any indication, Darius Remix is gonna be a kick ass album.

Let's fire up the CDJ order email...

Aww yeah, the huge honkin' Initial D CD box. Plus the new Gunslinger Girl image album. Good stuff. Awww yeah. Plus a bunch of Final Fantasy-related CDs, some of which were released in November and some in December.

Whoa, whoa. What's this, now?

Edit: Just looked it up. I guess it's all of 4th Stage selection Eurobeats plus the actual in-anime music. Sounds nice, but that's a hefty price tag for something like that. hmm
