Right, firstly I have started some waves about my situation in Europe and I'm happy to say that my official uk Nintendo magazine is really feeling the burn.

Secondly, I am back mostly because another religious debate is taking place in the Official Nintendo Magazine forums, and as the UK is full of atheists I've decided to stay well away from it.

Finally, is anyone getting the UC soundtrack when it comes out in Japan in a week or so? Some of that music is awesome, I'm really pleased with UC though I've nearly got all the S-Ranks. I think the Wii Zapper won't fit the technical accuracy needed in the game though.

My God, thank you so much for showing me this. I am actually crying with joy after literally YEARS of anguish. I cannot actually believe it's happened. (^_^) (0o0) This is the best news ever, I am soooooooo excited now. I am eternally grateful Ryu, and SHORYUKEN, actually that's tacky so, WELCOME NEW GALAXY! It's just more current. Whhooooooooooo!!!

I'm never going to be miserable again, this is amazing. (ephidel hugs inflatable chomp tightly) ^(0o0)^

It looks like it truncates it and I'm not sure how to stop it.  Here's the main part of it, dropping the http and www nonsense:

destructoid.com/nintendo-finally-does-the-smart-thing-improving-release-dates-outside-japan-57709.phtml

Here's their source:  http://vooks.net/modules.php?module=article&id=12434 (vooks.net/modules.php?module=article&id=12434) It cites Nintendo Australia, so it might not be all sunshine and happiness for Europe, and its too many languages.  Of course, if they use the same English, Spanish, and French translations from North America to worldwide, what languages are missing for Europe needing to translate?  Does anyone know if they use the same translations everywhere?

I still don't believe they'd release games in NA faster than they do now, especially for text-heavy games, but releasing games later in one region than another as a sales tactic just sounds absurd as hell.  In the meantime, they need to handle the Virtual Console similarly, because I find myself usually jealous of the region 2 areas sometimes.

Who cares if the statement is directly for EU gamers or not. We are part of the world so the statement also applies to us. It means, NINTENDO LISTENED!! OMG!! (0o0) No-one can get me down now. I told you, I told you guys that doubted me and pressure power. If we work together we can make ANYTHING  happen, believe people because it's true. I'm gonna be hyper for weeks now. AHHHHHHHHH!!!

Now I'm not really that up on the tech side of things, but I've always wondered if part of it didn't have to do with the PAL vs. NTSC thing.  Would that not require extra programming effort for a market where games don't sell as many copies anyway?  Do HDTVs negate that difference?  If so, all PAL territories might improve a lot this generation.  That's just my thought (hope?), anyway.

PAL vs. NTSC and the required testing/approvals by EU bodies is likely a factor in the release schedule.  It may also be that Nintendo Europe's office aren't as well staffed as North America's or Japan's.  If Australia's releases are handled by Europe's office, there are delays right there.  Europe has a gaming population, but I think the various EU countries and PAL coding probably really slow things down.

Things should be changing.  I noticed that Wii games for North America have three languages on the packaging, so they are trying to save costs by printing multiple languages.

The main, official reason is always translation, which seems to be crap, if you ask me. NoE are extremely lazy, we need Reggie to do some serious "Brain Training" over here. Luckily NoE will have a new website up soon and with that might come a change of attitude, I hope.

NoE, I feel, have no love lost for Nintendo, they seem nowhere near as dedicated as NoA/NoJ. I think it's NoE's disinterest in their own company that is seriously slowing things down, it wouldn't surprise me if it was run by OAP's <(0_o)>

I think this will be of interest,

NoUK's own general manager, now THAT'S the kind of support I've been looking for! Maybe now you will understand how big an issue this is! Please NoUK separate from NoE!! This will mean fast release dates and finally the UK market will receive proper recognition!
