Explain this!
Wow, I'm at a loss... what's up with this?
Edit: I showed my this to my friend and he said the collectors edition grants you unique items in-game that you can't get anywhere else. I guess other MMORPGs like WOW have simular items.
I play FF XI personally (but haven't touched it for more than a month),and I wouldn't spend even half of that for a deluxe edition, even if it meant getting the best armor set in the game. And this is only Guild Wars...People DO have money to spend...It makes me realise that if any of you on this forum is really wealthy,I'll put tonight on ebay a FF VII Limited Edition Highwind Cold Cast(not at a decent price...). *laughs* I want money, too!!!
430$ for a game... o_O
Check the winner's bid history... he has bought two cars off eBay Motors in the past month! That dude has spent some serious bling blangin'.
Why would you want to start a game with the best armor there is?
Doesn't that kind of ruin the entire idea of role-playing?

Considering the competitive nature of MMORPG's is it really surprising the ppl would look for any possible advantage? Still, you're right... half the fun I had when playing Diablo II years ago was killing bosses over and over for drops, looking for better equipment.
Ah yes, the endless hours of grinding. The reason MMORPGs really aren't for me.
By unique in game items it's nothing special. In WoW, at least, the original LE gave you a pet code that would give you a choice of a Diablo/Zergling/Panda non combat pet. It doesn't do anything in game other than say "I redeemed an LE code". Same thing with Blizzard beta cards and the murloc pet and murloc suits. I don't think any MMO gives you any different items that would efefct game balance, but could be wrong. Still, 400$ is a lot for something like that, but some people have money to burn.

Exactly, someone on eBay bought a sealed FFVII black border for $400 with buy-it-now. I can't even imagine...
400$!! o_O I think I should have bought more sealed FF VII back then... ^_^
