A pretty tame month for games, but it's got the one title I've been waiting forever and ever for: Nanostray 2!  Also looking forward to Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, and I'm still undecided as to which version of Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law to pick up - PS2, PSP, or Wii.

Some potentially-excellent soundtracks coming, too, including the Super Mario Galaxy Platinum OST set, NiGHTS Journey of Dreams Original Soundtrack, Lost Odyssey Original Soundtrack, and Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: The Labyrinth of Lost Time OST.  DVDs?  Probably just 3:10 To Yuma.

SonicPanda Dec 31, 2007

Nothing for me, January-wise. I think I'll track down games I missed due to the holiday freeze (Contra 4, Zack & Wiki), play the ones I got for the holidays (Mario Galaxy and ZX Advent in particular), and bide time until Apollo hits in February.

Jay Dec 31, 2007

Mario Galaxy OST, Nights 2 OST and SH0 OST. That's mostly it.

Zane Dec 31, 2007

There are a ton of CDs coming out that I want in January, which is rare. I usually only buy a few new albums every few months. Not only are they soundtracks I am interested in, but they're pretty much the "big" albums for me; new Yamaoka, Takada, etc.

Final Fantasy IV DS OST - No new tunes, but the arrangement of Theme of Love and some of the stuff I heard on the website made this a purchase-worthy album. At least this is a double-disc set.

Guilty Gear 2 Vol.2 OST - I was a little apprehensive about this album, but I ordered it anyway. The samples I heard weren't awful, so that's good. I've been getting into playing guitar more recently, so I figure this will be another "play along" album for me.

Lumines II remixes - After the awesome Winter remixes CD, I have high hopes for this album. Although h ueda and Sugiyama will be missed, I'm sure that Nakamura will deliver a solid disc on his own. If his work on Lumines and the Lumines Winter album are any indication, this is going to rock (and thump) my speakers for quite a while. Call me crazy, but I prefer Nakamura's Lumines stuff much (much, much) more than anything else that he has done in the past.

No More Heroes OST - This goes without saying. Takada and Fukuda are unstoppable as far as I'm concerned. If the progression from killer7 to God Hand is any indication, this OST is going to be phenomenal. The trailer music I've heard was great, so I can just imagine what other kinds of wacky shit GHM is going to come up with. This is at the top of my list for next month.

Silent Hill Zero OST - New Yamaoka is reason enough to celebrate, but new Silent Hill? That's reason to take the day off from work, put on some headphones and let the album take over for the night.

Super Mario Galaxy Premium (2 disc) OST - I preordered this from NCSX when it was listed, but I also have my alerts up for Play-Asia, just in case. I maybe have to double-order this one just in case my initial order doesn't go through. The music for SMG is intense, and I'm really looking forward to having this one on-disc!

I'll be (hopefully) picking up The Orange Box for the PS3, as I have not the PC to run it, nor the 360.  Framerate issues aside, I think I"m in for a treat.

Other than that, I think I'll just be biding my time until February when Smash Bros. Brawl and Devil May Cry 4 come out.

jb Dec 31, 2007

Lost Odyssey, FFIV DS, new Chocobo Dungeon OST, Taio Shinjiki OST Vol. 2 (Joe Hisaishi, Korean drama), Super Mario Galaxy 2cd (If I can find one...)

Zane, if you get doubles would you be willing to sell me one?  I don't know if I'll get the Play Asia one in time sad

Ryu Dec 31, 2007

Have we stopped mentioning movie releases?  If not, I'm interested in Tudors - 1st Season, Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Volume 5, and Family Guy Presents:  Blue Harvest (standard release, not the collector's edition).

As for video games, I'm surprised so much will be released:  Advance Wars Day of Ruin on DS and Burnout Paradise will be my first retail PS3 game.  I'll be Gameflying (so there's a chance I'll be buying through them) Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law and No More Heroes, both for the Wii.

Here's hoping for Rez HD's release on XBLA in January and SCEA wises up and releases Intelligent Qube on PSN, since it was released last week on the Japanese PSN. And whatever else Virtual Console, XBLA, and PSN games that remain unannounced that I may end up getting.

Is No More Heroes actually slated for a January release, though?  I've seen conflicting dates ranging between January 22nd and February 5th.

Absolutely. If I manage to get two copies, the second one is all yours for whatever I paid for it.

I'm going to just sit back and pray Guilty Gear Overture's better half makes up up for its' lesser half...

Scratch that...If it's halfway decent, I'll be completely satisfied.

Ain't complaining about a new Holy Orders though. Thank god they left that for the rock side. Now let's see if they can top Powerglove's killer rendition of my favorite VGM tune...

MAYBE Nights and Lost Odyssey, but I'm not expecting miracles...

New AC/DC tentatively set for January, but I doubt it will make the cutoff.

My rule is to only consider believing the latest date.  For the record, GameStop currently lists it for 2/5: http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=230217

I don't know,  but honestly Ubi would be wise to distance NMH from SSBB as much as possible.  Wii Fanboy (Joystiq site) had an article about it recently:  http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2007/1 … re-heroes/

If they wanted to distance it from Smash Bros., it would probably be better to push it back to April.  April is always an incredibly slow month for game releases, and people should have had their fill of SSBB by then.

Jodo Kast Jan 1, 2008

DVDs:

May 18
Breath
Conspiracy in the Court TV Series
Sunshine
Eastern Promises
3:10 to Yuma

A couple of those were supposed to come out in December.
Sunshine came out on DVD in South Korea back in August. I'm not sure why it came out on DVD so early and why South Korea got it. I somehow missed the theatrical release in July.

CDs:

Guilty Gear 2 Overture Original Soundtrack Vol. 2
Red Stone Original Soundtrack
Final Fantasy IV Original Soundtrack (Looking forward to proper loops.)
Star Ocean 1 First Departure Original Soundtrack

Ashley Winchester Jan 1, 2008 (edited Jan 1, 2008)

FFIV OST but I probably won't get it right away.

Edit: Is there any word on a release date on the OST for the PSP remake of the second Star Ocean? I'm curious about a few things regarding it.

Games

Hopefully freakin' Haze... damn PS3 game delays always have me on edge.

*Edit*

Nevermind... it's been pushed back to March. Surprise, surprise.

Soundtracks

No More Heroes Original Soundtrack - nothing to expect here but greatness. I hope to hear some of Takada's mad hip-hop skills. I can't get enough Samurai Champloo lately.

Just Advance Wars: Days of Ruin for me. I imagine it'll suck up all of my free time anyway.

Red HamsterX Jan 6, 2008

Games
Nanostray 2 (though I used it to get free shipping with some February items)
Disgaea 3 LE

CDs
Disgaea 3 Arrange (assuming it's solicited for release before the month's up)

And, as far as this thread goes, that is, I think, all I intend to buy. This is a pretty slow January for me. And it's also tuition month.
