So, as I mentioned in this thread that we've been talking in about living situations and stuff, I'm ready to move out. I found this great place to live up in Danvers, MA, which is about 25 minutes north of Boston. It all looked so good until I found out that this place was build on haunted ground.

There used to be this place called the Danvers State Hospital there, that was a mental asylum. Before they demolished most of it, the place was haunted as all hell, and even though they gutted most of the place there is no way they gutted the ghosts. Dammit, I am freaking out right now.

Anyway. Check out this video here, and stop on the first picture at 0:07. Then compare it to the first picture on the slideshow on the apartment complex's webpage.

And if that wasn't bad enough, my friend and her sister went up there five or six years ago before it was torn down and took some pictures that I have uploaded for you all to check out. Note that these pictures weren't staged or set up in any way. That wheelchair was actually there in that position in that room when the picture was taken.

Jesus. I am freakin' the f out right now. Time to keep looking for apartments.

That's the hospital from Session 9. They shot a whole movie there with nobody getting pulled into a hellish otherworld so you might be okay. Although Peter Mullen did reckon the place was haunted.

Edit: By the way, I don't believe in ghosts but I still think I'd have a hard time living there given everything that went on there at the site. The psychiatric profession has quite a horrific history and Danvers was big enough to have seen some horrible suffering. I'd have a hard time living there without constantly thinking of the people who once lived there.

Session 9 is an awesome movie.  I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Silent Hill or horror movies in general.  The DVD cover just screams Silent Hill.  The fact that Tommy was about to move there is funny as hell. smile

Has anyone on these boards seen Jacob's Ladder? Apparently an inspiration for Silent Hill, and one of the best thrillers I had seen in a long time. Seeing those photos reminded me of the building near the end of the film. God, this makes me really wanna play those games, now.

Danvers is haunted because it's really the homeplace of the Salem Witch Trials aka Salem Village. You wouldn't believe how many people think Salem, Mass. is where it all went down. And yeah, Session 9...

Seen it, pretty meh. I can see the ideas/concepts that Silent Hill draws from though.

I find David Lynch's stuff much more interesting when talking about Silent Hill. Go watch Eraserhead and some of his early short films. smile
