I won't pretend that I know everything that's going on. I found this forum thread on Digg. This is the situation as it appears to me: This guy Daniel_K modified existing driver packages from Creative to make them run (better?) in Vista. Creative didn't have a problem at first, until Daniel_K make driver packages that supported more than the original card for which the package was intended.
It seems true with Daniel_K himself replies with, "The funny thing is that you are faster "protecting" your technologies and intelectual properties than providing improved drivers and softwares for your customers." The same could be said about a large majority of technology companies out there...
Here is the thread on the Creative forums: http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs … .id=116332
Here is the Digg thread if you're interested in comments there: http://digg.com/mods/Creative_Goes_After_Driver_Modder
Thoughts? Sounds to me like the easiest and best course of action here is for Creative to straight up hire Daniel to fix their Vista driver packages!
Also, I'm guessing that the Daniel_K on the Creative boards isn't the same Daniel K we have here, right? O.O
