The store has 3 TVs dedicated to the unit.  I tried it out, and I would say I am going to get a workout when I actually buy this package.  The Slalom skiing simulator is really challenging.  Wii Fit really is a stickler about your balance.

Neat, I should drop by and check it out before deciding to buy.  Were you able to play it with your shoes on or not?  (With today's onslaught of rain here in NYC, I'd suspect those balance boards took quite a beating. ;p)

I have GOT to remember to pen in a day to check out Nintendo World when I finally visit New York, heh.

Sad to say, I got suckered in to buy Wii Fit. Partly because I'd like to test out my various fitness skills now that I've been working on them (and the promise of Wii Fit being a crash course in yoga and strength building appeals to me more than the skiing aspect), and partly because the Gamestop dude said Nintendo was working on licensing a surfing game, at which point a certain person rather forcefully urged me to get it. Heh.

Everybody took off their shoes.  There are two types of calibration: quick and full.  Full calibration weighs you and does a balance check.  It will ask the relative weight of you clothing: light clothing, medium clothing, heavy clothing.  The game seems to assume that you are not wearing shoes.

I waited to get my pre-order of Wii Fit at Nintendo World.  The lines were long.  Two separate lines on each floor.  The lines didn't go out the door, but the lines did snake around on each floor.  All the TV demo units were changed to display Wii Fit.

I think Nintendo has another hit here, even if the game part of Wii Fit is shallow by gamer standards.
